This Ryobi USB screwdriver kit stands out mainly for the batteries, with the two 3Ah packs carrying most of the value and the tool itself adding a compact, rotating body, onboard bit storage, and about 50 in-lb of torque. The square shape is easy to hold and turn, and the driver has held up well over years of use for some. The main knocks are that it is chunky for tight access, has only on and off control with no variable speed, and the USB batteries are pricey and may not be needed if you already have another system. Battery life and long term durability can also be a concern.

For $10 more, isn't this a better deal? You don't get the 3Ah battery, but you get a free one, plus the accessories and case. They do look slightly different, but it seems like the same driver?

If the goal is to improve access, the tool itself is quite chonky. I think I'd rather have the OP screwdriver. The USB batteries are stupid expensive for what they are, and there are plenty of other access methods for awkward fastener positions if you actually need them.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

The HyperTough 4v screwdriver at WalMart has a variable trigger and torque settings and it's $10 cheaper. You do lose the removable battery though.

Great deal if your in the USB Battery eco system. Auction sites sell the 3.0 batteries for $20 to $30 each since they are hard to find at decent prices! The tool itself is a decent $10 to $15 value, this deal is better for the 3.0 Batteries alone. I tried a few other combos but don't seem available for this price.

Has this thing really ever been $105? That seems like a really high original price.

I'm going to end up with too many of these batteries but at least 3ah is compelling. Can always use another screwdriver. Great deal!

That one is $50, non-rotating handle, and only 15 ft of torque vs. about 50 for this one.

I have one of the earlier versions of one these that do not have the changeable handle for about 6-7 years now and its been fantastic . Original battery is still very good cond including the extra battery I bought for it way back then ~ I dont remember the torgue specs on it , but it has always been plenty for all the things Ive used it on .
Probably one of the better and most used tools Ive bought over the years , r and Ive really been happy with it and can recommend one .

Two extra 3ah batteries are worth way more than that plastic case and accessories. I think your idea is misguided.

I have that one also I agree it is thin and the square body makes it easy to hold and turn when needed.

The Hyper Tough has a built in battery. When the battery dies, the tool is dead.
