The high price of all the FLUKE gear is so fascinating to me. I'm a luxury home PM and we definitely have some expensive tools and gadgets that make our job easier and more accurate but I just can't fathom justifying the price of some of the FLUKE equipment I see on here. Don't get me wrong, they definitely seem like the top-tier highest quality brand for this kind of stuff that I'm sure the best service professionals would want to use so I'm just wondering if someone could weigh in who buys this kind of stuff for their line of work to educate me about what areas or jobs these kind of prices would justify buying this kind of high priced equipment

Industrial job contract requiring a chain of validation.

fluke selling equipment validation services.

fluke is not perfect.
some models have serious problems.
some models offers mid features and overprice.

other brands offers more features and cost half as much.

fluke really offers "Cover Your Butt",
as fluke have the trust of the industries, for now.

If your job requires equipment that is required to be calibrated, fluke is one of the companies that is basically known worldwide to supply such equipment. Basically if your job is regulated, the equipment you use will have to be calibrated in some way and you will need to be able to provide proof of calibration.

I have a similar Fluke at work. The BNC connectors at the top are not BNC, they're a proprietary thing that kinda fits BNC connectors poorly. If their few hundred dollar probes don't fit your needs then you're shit out of luck.

Technicians use these to troubleshoot electrical issues in industrial plants. For a refinery that generates $20M a day reducing downtime can save them millions. Plus, workers in big industries tend to buy the best equipment available to cover themselves if something goes wrong, this is peanuts for them.

Electrical engineer here with experience in renewable energy and utilities.

Most of the time we pay top dollar for equipment simply due to brand recognition and industrial trust in the product line.

Some job sites or customers also put requirements on for what equipment manufacturers our techs can use on the job site
