Available today only via the T-Life app or through Costco app is the 11" 128GB Apple iPad (A16) for free with qualifying data plan through 36 months of bill credits.
Costco sweetens the offer with a waived device connection charge (up to $35) and a $25 Costco shop card. The 25GB Data Tablet with Beyond Savings 2.0 Plan is $5 with Go5G Next, Better Value, or Experience Beyond accounts. Term is for 36 months so it will cost you $5x36= $180 for the term of the contract plus sales tax and fees. Upfront costs for me were $52.50 for the sales tax.

Community Reviews
This iPad deal is aimed at T Mobile customers on the right premium plans, with the advertised free device tied to a qualifying $5 tablet line and 36 months of bill credits. The strongest appeal is the low upfront cost when the promo applies, but the checkout flow is inconsistent across accounts and sometimes shows the $25 plan, higher monthly charges, or cash due today instead. The credits also depend on keeping the tablet line active, so canceling early can leave the remaining iPad balance owed. A good fit only if the plan terms line up cleanly.
Common Questions (5)
The checkout flow can show taxes, device financing, or a different tablet plan instead of the advertised $5 line. Some checkouts showed $391 due today, while others showed $16.xx plus the $5 plan or even a $25/$30 monthly tablet charge depending on the account.
Yes. The promo can disappear when the $5 plan is selected, and the system may only allow a higher-priced tablet plan or remove the discount entirely. That makes the deal account-dependent rather than universally available.
Yes. The promo is tied to the 25GB Tablet with Beyond Savings 2.0 plan for Experience Beyond, Better Value, or Go5G Next lines. On other plans, the checkout can switch to a paid tablet plan instead of applying the free-iPad discount.
The iPad is offset by about $16.67 in monthly bill credits for 36 months, which cancels the device charge. If you cancel the data plan early, the remaining iPad balance becomes due.
It can. The bill-credit system is tied to your available financing credit, and paying down other devices may cause the monthly credits to disappear near the end of the term.

Also it pops up a window basically saying the financing terms have changed so I have to make an upfront payment but my savings don't change. I believe this is because I have 4 iPhone 18 Pros on this account but is ridiculous because I have an 832 credit rating. Even then I don't see how the savings work when I look at the final breakdown.
