Available today only via the T-Life app or through Costco app is the 11" 128GB Apple iPad (A16) for free with qualifying data plan through 36 months of bill credits. Costco sweetens the offer with a waived device connection charge (up to $35) and a $25 Costco shop card. The 25GB Data Tablet with Beyond Savings 2.0 Plan is $5 with Go5G Next, Better Value, or Experience Beyond accounts. Term is for 36 months so it will cost you $5x36= $180 for the term of the contract plus sales tax and fees. Upfront costs for me were $52.50 for the sales tax.

Costco instructions: visit https://www.costco.com/f/-/t-mobi...d-showcase and scroll down to "Get $25 when you purchase a new watch or tablet and activate a new line," it will then start a Costco/T-Mobile shopping session.

This iPad deal hinges on T Mobile tablet plan eligibility, with the best value tied to the $5 25GB Tablet with Beyond Savings 2.0 plan on qualifying Go5G Next, Better Value, or Experience Beyond lines. The promo can offset the iPad with monthly bill credits over 36 months, but the checkout flow is inconsistent and sometimes shows higher due today amounts or switches to a $25 or even $30 plan. Canceling the data plan would leave the remaining device balance due. A workable offer only if the account qualifies cleanly.

Common Questions (3)

  • Yes. Some accounts still show the iPad billed monthly, or the site removes the discount when the $5 plan is selected. In those cases, checkout may only offer a higher-priced tablet plan such as $25 or even $30 depending on the account.

  • Yes. The $5 tablet line is tied to the 25GB Tablet with Beyond Savings 2.0 plan for Experience Beyond, Better Value, or Go5G Next accounts. On other plans, the promo may not apply and checkout can switch to a higher-priced tablet plan instead.

  • The promo is structured as about $16.67 in monthly bill credits for 36 months, which offsets the iPad charge, but the checkout can still show taxes or other due amounts. If the tablet line is canceled early, the remaining iPad balance becomes due.

Be careful. For me, it let me choose the "25GB Tablet with Beyond Savings 2.0" plan, but at checkout charges me $30/mo. I assume this is because I'm on the "Advantage Unlimited" plan. VERY shady that they do that. Be aware.
They do offer me the $60 plan at $15/mo, that I am considering though. Not quite as slick of a deal though.
