This 2 gallon Home Depot Halloween bucket is drawing attention as a very cheap orange utility bucket, especially when it drops to 88 cents with store pickup. The low price makes it useful for quick projects, garage and garden storage, faucet changes under a sink, and even plant propagation or other random jobs. The Halloween version is the discounted one, while the plain everyday version costs more. A durability concern also came up, with bottom cracks reported on a previous batch.

The deal can be worthwhile when the price drops to around ninety cents with store pickup availability.

The bucket can be repurposed for spray-paint and stencil projects or other quick craft tasks.
RobinR99
The bucket can serve as a practical container for household uses like catching water during faucet changes.
teen260
The bucket can work for plant propagation containers, including fig propagation setups.

The displayed price can be higher than the advertised amount when free delivery is selected.
unbreakable379 kekoa808
The bucket can crack and split on the bottom after sitting unused, which suggests a potential durability issue.

Common Questions (5)

No. The 88-cent price appears to depend on location and fulfillment method; some listings show $2.86, while others show $0.88 with free store pickup and $2.86 with free delivery.
unbreakable379 kekoa808 Zip.Zap
Yes. It can be repurposed for spray-paint stencil projects, garage and garden storage, small plumbing jobs like catching water under a sink, and other random tasks.

If you can get it around $0.88 to $0.90, it is considered a strong buy, and one shopper noted the price had dropped from $1.88 after waiting. Multiple people bought several once the lower price appeared.
Tep TideFanGeorge dronewolf
Yes. It has been used as a throw-up bucket and as a small bucket for quick cleanup tasks, so it can serve as a cheap utility container.
Cleofus teen260
It can work for light-duty use, but one report says two buckets from a prior batch both cracked and split on the bottom while sitting unused. That suggests it may be better for temporary or low-stress jobs than heavy-duty storage.

The generic everyday version without Halloween imagery is this price.

The one with Halloween imagery is the one marked down to 88 cents.
Because they are have overflowing with excess stock.

under $1.00 is a steal for this! I would not have paid over this. I still have a bunch of T-Mobile Halloween buckets from a couple of years ago.

I ordered 3 yesterday at the +$1 price with lids. They were delivered this morning. I don't know how I will ever recover from this financially.

This is for your kid to walk around advertising HD and you pay $0.88 for the privilege...

Thats true but you can also use these as smaller buckets such as changing a faucet under a sink.

I ordered one yesterday, now the product page is empty for me. I guess they don't want people who just ordered to see the new price. 🤣

Both of mine cracked and split on the bottom. They were from last years batch. They were just sitting there and one day I walk past it and both were split on the bottom in the exact same way. Super strange, never found out if it was a defect or if I did something weird to it.
