**PSA / Heads-up before buying: These are Carbon-Zinc (Heavy Duty), NOT Alkaline.**

At ~$0.26/cell this looks tempting at first glance, but check the chemistry before ordering depending on what you plan to put them in:

* **What they actually are:** These are labeled **R6P / R03P (Carbon-Zinc / "Extra Heavy Duty")**, not standard **LR6 / LR03 (Alkaline)**. They have roughly **¼ to ⅓ the capacity (mWh)** of standard alkaline batteries and suffer from massive voltage sag under moderate/heavy loads.
* **Terrible for Game Controllers & High-Drain:** Controllers (Xbox, etc.) will burn through these in a matter of hours. The rumble motors and wireless radio drop the voltage fast enough to trigger low-battery disconnects almost immediately.
* **DO NOT use in Smoke Detectors:** Carbon-zinc has a short 2–3 year shelf life and a steep self-discharge rate. Most detector manuals explicitly require alkaline or lithium; these will start chirping low-battery warnings within months and defeat the safety margin.
* **Where they actually work:** Basic infrared TV remotes, cheap wall clocks, and simple digital thermometers. In low-drain standby devices that only sip tiny bursts of power, they will perform fine without wasting expensive alkaline cells.

**Bottom line:** If you need a cheap stash exclusively for simple IR remotes, they work. For toys, controllers, flashlights, or life-safety gear, wait for a sale on store-brand alkalines (or grab NiMH rechargeables).
