Creality's Space Pi filament dryer line is drawing interest as a practical add on for keeping filament dry, especially for PETG and other moisture prone materials, and it pairs well with printers like the Snapmaker U1. The X4L is the lower priced option, with the deal landing around $75 to $90 after coupon or price changes, while the X4 has been seen around $123 to $159 and offers higher temperature capability. The X4L tops out at 70 C, which may limit drying for some filaments. A solid pick if you want basic drying without paying for the extra headroom.

Common Questions (4)

  • The X4 is the higher-end model and can be found around $123.72 after discount, while the X4L is the lower-priced model around $89.98. The X4L tops out at 70°C, which can limit drying for some filaments, while the X4 is chosen for extra functions and higher-temperature headroom.

  • Yes, it can work well with the Snapmaker U1 and similar printers. One user reports using the dryer box with a U1 and says it works perfectly.

  • Yes. PETG and other moisture-prone filaments benefit from drying, especially when stored in airtight boxes with desiccant and periodically dried at low heat.

  • The product page shows NEW, but there is also a claim that the units being sold are used. The listing may need to be checked on receipt because the page and the reported condition do not match.

I just bought a Prusa MK4S, should I get this too? I'm new to 3d printing. I live in Wyoming, where it's already pretty darn dry.
I'm in Colorado, so same dry climate.... I've never needed to use the filament dryers on my Anycubic Ace units at all. Filament just doesn't need it here.... Maybe TPU but that is an edge case.

Great price.

Good add-on for Snapmaker U1 and other similar printers.
Currently using one with my U1 from a prior deal and it works perfectly.

Depends on the filament. PETG and others are moisture prone so drying them helps.

Maybe so, but the X4L is going to struggle to dry that. It tops out at 70C.

This is exactly why I bought the X4 model instead. Even though I know I will probably print 99% with PLA and PETG, but I just don't want to find myself needing the higher temperature but cannot do anything about it.

Really!? How do you know? The produce page says NEW. I noticed they have other posts for refurbished units, but that's not the same as the one posting here. I guess I will find out when I receive my unit and post back to confirm.
When I went to the link (tried both of them) all the units were marked "Used" (or refurbished, if you read the fine print, but they were customer returns). Now they are showing "New" again.
