Community Reviews
The Deep Marine Explorer II is a titanium dive watch that stands out for unusually strong specs at $400, including a ceramic bezel, sapphire crystal, Swiss movement, and 1200 meter rating. The titanium case makes it wear smaller than its size, and the color combination gets praise for feeling distinctive. The main knocks are that it looks very close to a Rolex Sea Dweller style and the bracelet can have sharp edges. The listed $1,899 MSRP also feels inflated, making it more of a spec heavy microbrand piece than a true discount.
Common Questions (5)
$400 is the regular microbrand price rather than a true discount, since these brands often run perpetual sales. The titanium version goes on sale less often, and the spec set is strong for the money: titanium case, ceramic bezel, sapphire crystal, Swiss movement, and 1200m certification.
The design is very close to a Sea-Dweller-style look, especially in the two-tone and overall diver layout. It is still a distinct microbrand watch, but the resemblance is strong enough that it may read as a homage to many buyers.
It is a chunky watch, but the titanium case makes it wear smaller than its dimensions suggest. That lighter feel is the main reason it can be comfortable despite the large dive-watch profile.
The bracelet can have sharp edges, though the rest of the finishing is described as nicely done and the titanium may smooth over with wear. One version also has white-on-white bezel numerals on half the bezel, which makes the markings harder to read.
Yes, the coupon code OCEANEVAOFF reportedly takes another $44.90 off the price. That makes the final cost lower than the listed deal price.

And yes, this reads more than a little like a Sea-Dweller. There are only so many ways you make a diver. Take a look at a Spinnaker or a Zodiac or a Watchdives or a Scurfa or a Deep Blue or any of a dozen other dive watches and it will look a bit like a Subby. Or get a Bathyscape (or a different Spinnaker) to get a homage of the 50 Fathoms. Today I am wearing a Super Squale that has its own design language that's a few decades old, but 95% of people who see it wouldn't be able to tell you it isn't the Rolex without seeing the crown.
The quality of the Sea-Dweller is much higher, of course. But I've owned one, and frankly I'd pick this watch over the Rolex pretty much any day.
So, the negatives. There are some sharp bits on the bracelet (which is otherwise nicely finished). I suspect they will round over, as titanium tends to. And in the particular version I have (the GMT), there is white-on-white numbers on half the bezel, which is just dumb.
