This refurbished Dell OptiPlex 7090 UFF is a compact workhorse with unusually strong specs for the price, especially 32GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD. The laptop class i5 1145G7 is not a powerhouse, but the memory and overall package compare well with similarly priced mini PCs and even some laptops. The UFF design is meant to mount behind Dell monitors, and it can be powered by USB C power delivery. Main cautions are the soldered CPU, limited upgrade headroom, and concerns about refurb quality, especially the SSD and included accessories. It fits best as a small homelab or desk setup if the form factor works for you.
The OptiPlex UFF form factor is designed to mount behind Dell monitors for an all-in-one style setup.
The system can run home lab workloads like Home Assistant, Frigate, and a local NAS.
The i5-1145G7 is a laptop-class CPU but the overall spec bundle can be strong for the price if the UFF shape fits.
The unit includes multiple USB ports and an eBay $10 coupon can lower the effective price to around $218.
The CPU is soldered to the mainboard, which limits upgradeability for future performance needs.
The refurb quality may be questionable because the SSD and RAM could be replaced with inferior parts that fail after months.
Some listings and experiences indicate the desktop may not include a power adapter, which can complicate setup.
Refurbished units may arrive defective or not power on, and some refurbishers may resell returns without proper testing.

it's ddr4 sodimm. It's not that valuable, and you're not going to overclock it or anything.
and doing all that for a 256gb ssd? seriously?

I've gotten "refub" items that would not even POWER ON! Some wouldn't function. This isn't even trying to see if the item failed 5 or 10 min into use. It was super evident they just took defective returned items and resold them.
So just out of curiosity I looked at Discount Computer Depot who "refubishes" Dell items for Walmart. Plenty of one star reviews getting a defective item but what value are my life experiences 🤔
