I don't 100% remember the fix, but it was something like this. See if they have an app and install it.
Go to the home screen, instead of Android Auto, hit the home button on the unit, then pick something different, like Screen Mirroring. If you didn't find the app earlier, it will show a QR code to download their app. Then in the app menus it will then prompt you to apply an update. Once I updated, the unit has been solid.
These are similar fixes.

This wireless CarPlay and Android Auto screen is best at adding a quick touchscreen and backup camera to older cars, with fast phone connection and generally solid day to day use. Mounting options include suction cup or adhesive, and the backup camera can trigger instantly in reverse. The main caveats are recurring disconnects or restarts on some units, plus a camera image that can look blurry, stretched, or hard to see in bright sun. Firmware updates and support have helped some units stabilize, making it a practical upgrade if you can live with the camera and screen quirks.
Common Questions (5)
Some units can randomly restart or disconnect every few minutes, often due to software or voltage sensitivity. A firmware patch through the companion app has fixed the issue for some units, and support can walk through the update process.
It can mount with a suction cup or 3M adhesive on the dash or windshield, and some setups also support CD-slot or tape-slot mounts sold separately. The mount is usually firm, but it can shake or even fall off if the surface is hot or the mount is not tightened well.
The code can work, but it may only apply after refreshing checkout a few times. It also may fail in the Amazon app while working on desktop, and some checkouts showed only a partial discount instead of the full expected amount.
The camera works instantly when you shift into reverse, but the image is often described as blurry, stretched, and not true widescreen. It is usable for basic reversing, but it may not provide a very clear view or accurate lines.
It can auto-connect to an iPhone in a few seconds, and some units take about a minute to fully connect. A hardwired ignition setup can make the startup and connection feel more consistent.

The BT connection is excellent ... and I rely on this device whenever I drive out in my 2008 MB C350.

This is the one I got. It worked fine in my 07 Dodge Grand Caravan and in my 2014 Corolla. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01C3ZK...in_ti
