I don't 100% remember the fix, but it was something like this. See if they have an app and install it.
Go to the home screen, instead of Android Auto, hit the home button on the unit, then pick something different, like Screen Mirroring. If you didn't find the app earlier, it will show a QR code to download their app. Then in the app menus it will then prompt you to apply an update. Once I updated, the unit has been solid.
These are similar fixes.

This is a portable CarPlay and Android Auto screen that works well for older cars, with quick phone pairing, solid Bluetooth, and flexible audio options through AUX, FM transmission, or a tape adapter. The backup camera is useful for reversing, and the unit can be mounted with suction cup or adhesive hardware, with some setups needing extra care for heat and stability. The main drawbacks are recurring disconnects or restarts on some units, occasional lag, glare, and a camera image that can look blurry or stretched. It is a handy upgrade if you want modern infotainment without replacing the whole stereo.
Commuters who want a unit that auto-connects fast and works reliably after setup, because it can connect within seconds and has been solid after firmware updates or support fixes.
Drivers of older cars who want wireless CarPlay or Android Auto without replacing the factory stereo, because the screen adds touchscreen navigation and can route audio through AUX, Bluetooth, or FM transmitter.
Owners who want a quick backup-camera setup for reverse parking, because the camera can show instantly when shifting into reverse and the wiring can be tucked without running it all the way to the rear.
People comfortable doing a little installation tuning, because a solid mount and cleaner power source can make the screen stable and reduce restart or disconnect issues.
People who want flawless wireless connectivity out of the box, because the unit can randomly restart or disconnect and may need firmware fixes or support help.
Drivers who need a rock-solid mount in hot sun, because the adhesive and suction setup can loosen, shake, or fall off after prolonged heat.
Drivers who need a crisp, wide backup camera image, because the camera can look blurry, stretched, zoomed in, or hard to see clearly.
People who expect the screen to stay smooth under load, because it can lag, stutter, or feel resource-hungry during use.

Just ensure that the dash doesnt get too hot from the summer sun and you will be fine.
The unit has been great but. I wish it had auto dimming. There can be a lot of glare during sunny days. At night, I can't get the screen to dim at a certain time.
The adhesive on the mount is strong but it will fall off if the ar is in direct sunlight for a long time.
It seems like the 8% off at checkout is applying. I was able to get the code working by refreshing the checkout page a few times after applying it.
If you use the rear camera, add a stainless steel license plate bracket for a few bucks more to get the best view possible.
No drilling is necessary for a very solid installation.

I see this one falls short in those areas.
Install was fairly simple, it's nice they provide everything needed.
However I turned my car on, the device turned on but was having issues with the sound. like a static noise or almost a dial up noise lol.
I didn't even attempt any firmware or update on it. I didn't want to fight with it.
I was lucky enough to already have a usb/aux Bluetooth module that was bel to just stream sound from device to Bluetooth bypassing the aux jack sound. And it's clear now.
