This wireless CarPlay and Android Auto screen is best for adding a touchscreen and backup camera to an older car without replacing the stereo. Setup is straightforward, and the unit can connect quickly, auto connect to a phone, and work well for daily driving. Audio can run through AUX, Bluetooth, FM broadcasting, or a tape adapter, and the backup camera can trigger instantly in reverse. The main caveats are mount reliability, glare in sun, and reports of random restarts, disconnects, or lag that may require a firmware or app update. A practical retrofit if you want modern phone integration with some tinkering.

Common Questions (5)

  • It can connect in under a minute and auto-connects quickly on startup, but some units have reported random disconnects, restarts, or lag. Updating firmware through the companion app has fixed the restart/dropout issue for some units.

  • It comes with suction-cup or 3M tape mounting options, and similar setups can also use dash, windshield, or cowl mounts. A stable mount matters because the screen can shake, and heat can weaken adhesive in summer.

  • The camera activates instantly in reverse, but the image is often described as blurry, stretched, and not true widescreen. It can still be usable, and one setup tip is to use a license-plate bracket to improve the rear view.

  • It supports AUX in/out, Bluetooth, and FM transmission, so you can route sound through the car stereo in several ways. Older cars can also use a tape adapter if needed.

  • The code may not apply cleanly in the Amazon app, but it has worked on desktop after refreshing the checkout page a few times. The discount shown was about 8% when it applied.

I have the Krunia one. Excellent customer support. The mounts did fail; however, customer service replaced them.

The BT connection is excellent ... and I rely on this device whenever I drive out in my 2008 MB C350.

I have couple questions for those who own this or similar model:
  • How long does it take for this device to boot and connect to your phone (via CarPlay) when you start the car?
  • While the device still booting up, will I able to see the backup camera video when shift car to reverse? Or do I have to wait until it completely booted?

I bought this a few months ago when it was on sale. But it's keep disconnecting every 10 minutes. Please check Amazon reviews before buying this. Many people have same problem as I have with this unit.
PSA: The restarting thing is software related and can be fixed with a patch. There should be one available via the app that connects with your device. If you have trouble, send an email to their customer support and they will walk you through the process.

Theres an app to fix that. Takes 10 seconds, then delete the app. Haven't had a disconnect since

I bought this last night so thanks to the op, but I have a question for those of you that actually set one up. Does this device or its app need cellular internet connection to function after the initial app install? I have off-line apps for navigation I would like to try from a phone that is not connected to a provider. Thanks.

I found a CD mount on Amazon for like 10-15 bucks and that has been great. All my mounting options with the standard equipment would both block my middle AC vents and fall off, both of which are because Texas sucks and it's hot lol. CD mount though means it basically is just covering up my old radio that it's outputting sound through. Love it.
Tried one of these CD mounts in my Mini Cooper Roadster...just for my phone mount. Never could get it tight enough and eventually it would fall out every time. Reached a point that I genuinely thought I was going to split my CD player apart if I tightened it any harder.

Can I get a link? With my toll lane monitors & city stickers, and inspection I cant use a window mount andthe plastic of the dashboard doesn't allow for constant sticking for suction cup mounts

This is the one I got. It worked fine in my 07 Dodge Grand Caravan and in my 2014 Corolla. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01C3ZK...in_title_2

Yes. I have a similar model. Works great. Love it. I have the fuse tap so when the car turns on it comes in and auto connects to my iPhone in a few seconds.
Thank you! My hope is my 12V plug will do the same thing since that does turn on / off (with a slight off delay) with the ignition. Normally I'd just change the head on my radio but of course Ram decided the only logical way to do that was remove the entire dashboard...ain't no body got time for that.
