These are really, really good subs. Get two and thank me later. I run two Mirage Omni 10" subs which replaced a dual SVS 12", and never looked back. It also compares to a Martin Logan 10" and Snell 10" I have on other systems. Mirage was the sister company to Enertgy, and the subs were very similar.

I have an old version of this in my 2 car garage that I use to listen to music while working on cars and I am amazed at the performance/price of this. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one. This coming from someone with 18" subs for my home theater room. It has also survived many years of hot Arizona garage temps which is impressive in its own aspect.

I bought the Jamo 5.0 setup a few years ago on here with no subwoofer. Would this be a good value fit with the onkyo receiver?

Does anyone know how much these actually draw in real life usage? I know it depends a lot on the amp used too, but curious if they ever actually get near 400watts?

The reason I am asking is because I would be using it off grid via battery.

So a sub doesn't need to match with your loudspeakers so this would work fine.
How good it's performance is based on your preferences/expectations vs the cost will define the value for you.

Contrary to popular belief, there is no universal correct answer.

RMS is 150, the 400 is peak.
So yes the AC draw will vary(depend) based on playback volume and signal load.
It also has a small draw while in idle/standby.

I assume it's worse than more recent designs using class d amps.

No not really but the RSL is over double the price also.
Whether it's worth the extra cost is a personal choice.

In for one! Needed a sub for my stereo setup for playing music in the house. This one gives me room to grow if I upgrade the speakers.
