wifi really kills these locks. This one isn't clear, but it is grade 2, same as the Kwikset SmartCode 270. I recommend the kwikset since it's cheaper and lasts much longer. No wifi needed.

Understatement. These EAT batteries like they are going out of fashion.

I have the Assure Lock 2 wifi, and can confirm that the wifi destroys the battery, and it is only like 10 feet from the router and is unlocked very seldom. I would get 4-6 weeks from name brand batteries (tried rechargeable and regular) with little use. Once I removed the WiFi module I was easily getting 6-9 months from Energizer Max AAs on bluetooth only.

I have this, but with the z-wave module and its been great. I'll also add the wifi version will kill the batteries.

I do not recommend this product.

I purchased this lock in-store in November 2025 when it was also on sale at the same price.

The battery life is extremely poor.

The lock had locked my family out three times in a span of approximately 6 months that I had it.

Thanks to Costco return policy, I was able to return it without any issues.

Can the Z-Wave module be purchased separately and replace the wifi module on this one? Same lock with Z-Wave is $100 more ...

I love this lock for our multi family house. I use eneloop pro rechargeable batteries and usually get about 3-4mo on a single charge during summer and 6-8 weeks during a cold Chicago winter.
