I think the iPad was a letdown. I was planning on pre-ordering it and decided not to. This seems like the best alternative. I'm still not getting it. 😂 But the 256 iPad with a 60hz screen is $800? That is pretty crazy too.

Lenovo's Legion Tab Gen 5 is a compact Android gaming tablet with a sharp 8.8 inch 3K 165Hz display, strong Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 performance, and solid pen support. The included G9 case and lighter body make it feel more like a convertible gaming tablet, and the newer chip and Adreno 840 graphics are framed as a meaningful step up for emulation and Android games. The main knocks are the lack of OLED, no memory card slot, and concerns about Lenovo's update history. At $598.49, it still feels pricey, with some waiting for a drop closer to $500.

  • Tablet buyers who care about a high-refresh display for everyday use, because the 165Hz screen is a stronger fit than 60Hz alternatives.

    Butters_St0tchJK1982

  • People who want a small tablet with enough storage for local media and apps, because it includes a memory card slot for expansion.

    feretiochasesmith.op

  • Android tablet buyers who want stronger performance than last year's model, because the newer chip is described as faster and more efficient with a meaningful GPU gain.

    yue56MissConduct

  • Mobile gamers who want a compact Android tablet for console and PC emulation, because the faster chip and Adreno 840 GPU are described as well suited to gaming and emulation.

    MissConduct

  • Shoppers who want a tablet that feels like a clear value at this price, because $598 is still described as too expensive and more interest is expected under $500.

    deeznutz206haydentech

  • People who need expandable storage without relying on a memory card slot, because this model is called out as lacking one.

    ben_r_

  • Buyers who expect long software support, because the OS upgrades stop at Android 17 and security updates end in about three and a half years.

    burgerbob

  • People who want a tablet for broad game compatibility, because last year's model was described as having bloatware and trouble loading some games.

The price has changed like 6 times in the last month. I saw it at 899 msrp, 799 sale price 2 weeks ago, then 699 last week, now 598..... makes you wonder if it will go any lower by black friday or if this is peak numbers. Wish the US didnt have to pay the tariffs + the ram tax + get the get the nerfed version

This is the one with no memory card slot right? That kills it IMO.

iPad hands down. Who is paying 600 for a random Lenovo tablet?

OS upgrades for this tablet stop with Android 17 this year. Security updates end in three and a half years.
