I think the iPad was a letdown. I was planning on pre-ordering it and decided not to. This seems like the best alternative. I'm still not getting it. 😂 But the 256 iPad with a 60hz screen is $800? That is pretty crazy too.

Lenovo's Legion Tab Gen 5 is a compact Android gaming tablet with a sharp 8.8 inch 3K 165Hz display, strong Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 performance, and solid pen support. The included G9 case and lighter body make it feel more like a convertible gaming tablet, and the newer chip and Adreno 840 graphics are framed as a meaningful step up for emulation and Android games. The main knocks are the lack of OLED, no memory card slot, and concerns about Lenovo's update history. At $598.49, it still feels pricey, with some waiting for a drop closer to $500.

  • The tablet can support expandable storage because it reportedly includes an SD card slot.

    feretio

  • The Legion Tab Gen 5 can deliver a meaningful GPU uplift because the Adreno 840 is reportedly faster than the Portal 3's GPU.

    MissConduct

  • The device can be a strong option for console and PC emulation because it is positioned as a gaming tablet for Android gaming and emulation.

    MissConduct

  • The included G9 case can improve handheld comfort because it is reportedly made for the tablet and feels like a convertible gaming setup.

  • The tablet can feel overpriced at $598.49 because multiple comparisons suggest interest would increase under $500.

    deeznutz206deeznutz206

  • The price can fluctuate sharply over the past month, which can make $598 feel uncertain for Black Friday timing.

    LwdshB

  • The model can have limited long-term software support because OS upgrades reportedly stop at Android 17 and security updates end in about 3.5 years.

    burgerbob

  • The tablet can be a poor fit for expandability because this configuration is reportedly sold without a memory card slot.

The price has changed like 6 times in the last month. I saw it at 899 msrp, 799 sale price 2 weeks ago, then 699 last week, now 598..... makes you wonder if it will go any lower by black friday or if this is peak numbers. Wish the US didnt have to pay the tariffs + the ram tax + get the get the nerfed version

This is the one with no memory card slot right? That kills it IMO.

iPad hands down. Who is paying 600 for a random Lenovo tablet?

OS upgrades for this tablet stop with Android 17 this year. Security updates end in three and a half years.
