This URLIFE E20 is a compact fat tire e bike that stands out for quick throttle takeoff, solid everyday fun, and enough power for errands or riding with a child. The battery is removable for separate charging, assembly is reported as easy, and the bike can feel surprisingly capable for the price. Real world range looks much lower than the marketing, with roughly 15 to 20 miles at higher speeds and much more only with light assist and pedaling. The brakes and pedal sensor may need attention, and the front brake is the main upgrade point, making it a practical budget cruiser if those limits are acceptable.

  • Parents towing a young child on neighborhood rides, because the throttle can launch from a dead stop and the bike feels fun for short cruising.

  • Errand riders who want a heavy-duty cruiser, because it can cover about 15 miles at full speed and still be ridden a few miles without power.

  • Smaller adults and teens, because the frame has enough power for them and the bike stops quickly after a front-brake upgrade.

  • Commuters who want a removable battery, because it detaches for separate charging and replacement batteries are easy to source.

  • Riders expecting long-range full-throttle trips, because real-world battery life can be around 15 to 20 miles instead of the advertised 80.

  • People who want smooth low-speed pedal assist, because the sensor can surge and engage too hard when starting slowly.

  • Riders who need low-maintenance braking, because the brakes can need constant adjustment and the front brake may need upgrading for safer stopping.

  • Heavy riders who want effortless pedaling with the motor off, because the bike is heavy and the drivetrain adds noticeable drag without power.

You are not getting 80miles. My 48v 750w 950w peak middrive bike on mostly flat terrain at an avg of 16mph avgd 30w per mile this week. This bike will be worse than that, expect 20miles on battery and add a couple more if you pedal a lot. If you dont pedal a lot and are sustaining 20+mph 15 is a reasonable safe range as voltage sag becomes a factor at low state of charge.

All that said, if the battery limitations are acceptable this bike was the one i was benchmarking against for price/perf before building my own for somewhere over $400.
Yeah. That sounds right. There are no accurate range estimates for eBikes, EVs, etc.

Like my daughter might actually get like 80 miles/charge. Probably closer to 40-50. Meanwhile, I get like 10.
Why?
1. She uses the motor as pedal assist (electric bicycle), versus me being lazy and rarely pedaling (electric scooter). In theory, the range is infinite if you're willing to pedal. Just like my wife's Mercedes gets over 100MPG because it spends most of its time on the back of a tow truck.
2. She keeps the bike around 15MPH, while I'm usually above 20MPH. I don't trust the bike near or over 30MPH for multiple reasons. If you're chasing speed, save and spend for something designed for that.
3. She rides mostly flat, paved bicycle trails/lanes, where as I go up and down hills, hit light dirt/grass trails.
4. She weighs half as much as me, and is probably far more aerodynamic.
5. She only rides when the whether is nice (60-80F). Range drops off considerably when cold.
Keeping the tires properly inflated also huge for increasing range.

My Tesla is the same way. I am sure some people over-inflate low roll resistance tires, never go above 20MPH, disable AC/Heat/Sentry/etc. to reduce parasitic draw, have never used a supercharger and can get THREE HUNDRED MILES on a single charge. Meanwhile, I use my car like a car. And enjoy it infinitely more.

Batteries are also swappable, so if range is a concern, carry a second.

But best recommendation for this bike isn't any of this. Upgrade the front brake. A larger rotor, cable actuated hydraulic brake, and the mounting adapter is under $50. So much safer.

I have considered Ali Express as a fake site. I ordered from them years ago and never received the merchandise. I wasn't charged and couldn't reach customer service. I thought they were just to get your credit information. I am shocked people are still using them

I've placed over a hundred orders on aliexpress over the last 10 or so years, and I think only one item was completely fraudulent, and two or three more weren't as described and I had no trouble getting a refund in all cases. It's basically chinese ebay, it depends on the seller, and like ebay they tend to side with the buyer in disputes.

Nice little bike for teens or smaller adults. Upgraded the front brake and now it stops quickly.
Yes the pedal assist kicks in too hard when going slowly. Not a problem for me, but you can always just unplug the wire for it and use throttle only.
This thing has more than enough power and is fun to ride

Mine arrived yesterday and I am completely impressed. I have built many bikes from the box and was impressed that the brakes and drivetrain were perfect no tweaking. I'm a physicist and very exacting and fussy. Assembly was easy (30mins). Everything worked out of the box. Shockingly good at this price. I was able put in the password and view all Display and Advanced options. If anyone has any questions feel free to message me. Is there a way to unlock and make it go faster? Is it as simple as increasing P0 8 from 45 to 100?

If anyone is on the fence, I highly recommend making the leap.

Well I'm a marine biologist. And I agree this is a fantastic bike for the money. It's the first e bike I bought. So far it has held up perfect. It's a lot of fun and better than what I thought I could do at anywhere near this price point when I first purchased a year ago. Personally I wouldn't try to make it faster by hacking it. It's already plenty fast for a bike of its size and weight. Plus you'd probably burn out your controller and motor quicker. Just let it be what it is and have a good time.. 👍

I got a nearly identical one without the front shocks and it goes the full 28mph on throttle. It takes a while to get up there, it's quick for the first 20 MPH and then just keeps going faster a bit more slowly. Range is tougher to answer. It's geared and has pedals so it's really just a factor of how fast you want to go. I could milk this for 60 miles pedaling on real low assist or mostly drain it in like 15 miles at full throttle with no pedaling. On the one I got the gearing was good enough that I could ride it around with no power. I wouldn't do it on purpose, it's heavy and there's a lot of drag from the motor when it's not spinning, but I could put a few miles solely human powered and not be especially put out. Perk not mentioned much about this style bike is that the batteries are stupid easy to get and reasonably cheap. Something like this would cost $150 for a replacement battery vs like a $1000 for a Trek or Specialized battery because those people are evil.
What do I need to know when looking for a compatible battery? What needs to match? I'm guessing it's of a more generic kind for these types of bikes, but I fear the potential random differences in connectors and form factors lol.
