I bought it. Whoever can't figure out the attachments must be challenged in some type of way. I figured it out in less than 10 seconds without even looking at the directions. I feel like I need to have a serious conversation with some of these reviewers about living in a nursing home.

There's literally a button on the back that detaches the attachments and a manual that shows how to do so

Notes for future reference:

The Philips Norelco Body Groomer 5000 is not designed for facial hair — the product page specifically recommends it for chest, legs, back, underarms, and intimate areas.

That said, some customers do report using it on their face to trim long beard hairs and keep their mustache in shape. However, reviews note there are better options specifically made for facial grooming.

Bottom line: It can trim long facial hair in a pinch, but it's not ideal for regular beard or face shaving. For facial hair, a dedicated beard trimmer or facial razor would give you better results.
