Ho ho ho, here we go again - to continue the tradition, I might as well start the thread now.
Man, this Black Friday is so terrible (so far) I almost forgot to make this thread again. It's November 1st and we're already into "Black November," which at this point is less a sale and more a subscription service for disappointment. Retailers have turned the whole thing into a 4-week-long trailer with no movie at the end.
And so far in 2026? It's the same drip-feed, just earlier. The big early "wins" are a $25 Fire Stick and a tracker for $17 - great if you needed a tracker, not exactly storm-the-store material. Best Buy's calling their Week 1 sale "DoorBOOsters," which is accidentally honest, because BOO is right. A $1,999 OLED TV with a gift card thrown in is not a doorbuster, it's a mortgage payment with a bonus. And Best Buy isn't even offering any savings at all on AirPods Pro 3 while Amazon's got them at $199 - so much for the EARLY doorbuster price war.
The real stuff hasn't even started yet - Target's early sale doesn't hit until Nov 5-7, Walmart's until Nov 12-15, Best Buy's main event until Nov 19-28. So we're all sitting here in early November refreshing pages for deals that, if the forecast is right, are only going to be like 14% off until we get closer to Thanksgiving. We're basically paying attention a month early for the privilege of being disappointed slowly instead of all at once.
So post here if you're disappointed with what you see and think that the deals suck this year. Just like they did last year, the year before that, the year before the year before...
Because let's be honest, there will never be a better Black Friday than that 2010 Lowe's Facebook frenzy - 90% off coupons, double-dipping on water heaters, and salty commenters losing their minds over our hauls. That was such an innocent time compared to now.
Man, I miss the Staples deals. I still have a framed receipt of some RAM I got delivered for $0.03. If only we Fatwallet/slickdealers would have known what the future would bring, we could have just bought ALL THE RAM and been living like kings in 2026!!
And look at what we've "progressed" to since then:
2022: a 700+ dollar Apple watch and people think that's an amazing deal?? Car chargers for phones at 30+ dollars? No actual phone deals other than a piece of garbage TCL phone with 4 gb ram? A 300 dollar printer on the front page?? Retailers messed it up so much we weren't even sure if Black Friday happened on the 21st or not.
2023: Where can we find the two pack of WYZE cameras for 18 bucks?!?! Okay, it was actually $34 for a 2 pack - still insane! And not a single deal you actually 'get' to go stand in line for. No doorbusters since 2020, apparently.
2024: Black Friday is a great time of the year... for the retailers to get rid of old overpriced stuff that no one wanted to buy during the year. Don't let them fool ya.
2025: Target's 40% off pajamas, holiday décor, and LEGO, Walmart's KONG dog toy down from $13.99 to $11.96 - two bucks off, groundbreaking - and a razor at the same price it's been on Amazon for weeks. Sam's Club wanted you to pay for a membership for the privilege of $10 off a Panera gift card. And a 40" Vizio for $128 that Best Buy beat with a $99 doorbuster. Talk about getting screwed on pixels.
BRING BACK THE 90% off LOWES FACEBOOK GIFT-A-THON!
Anyway - tell us how awful this BF is shaping up in 2026! What's the lamest "deal" you've seen so far?
Have a good Holiday Season all!!
