LG's 42 inch C6 stands out as a compact OLED for gaming, computer use, and TV viewing, with the smaller size giving it a sharp, high density picture and comfortable desktop scaling. The 42 inch format is praised as a sweet spot for mixed monitor and living room use, and the C6 line is seen as especially appealing for its OLED contrast. The main caveat is that the newer Tandem OLED panel appears to be limited to the 48, 77, and 83 inch sizes, so the 42 inch model uses the older WOLED panel. B and H's no returns policy on larger TVs is another thing to check before ordering.

  • The 48-inch C6 can use the newer Tandem OLED panel and may get brighter than other C6 sizes.

    SkylarPSwolern

  • The 42-inch C6 size can work well as both a computer monitor and a gaming display.

    PrasadM8938

  • The 42-inch OLED size can deliver high DPI that makes the TV feel like a "gem."

    BrightFlower9146

  • The 42-inch C6 can support gaming and productivity use cases effectively.

    sublime46

  • B&H reportedly does not accept returns on 37-inch-and-larger monitors or TVs.

    dkm16

  • Only the 48, 77, and 83-inch C6 sizes reportedly use the newer Tandem OLED panel.

    Swolern

  • LG reportedly skipped the Tandem panel for the 55-inch and 65-inch sizes.

    ViT3633

  • Waiting for Black Friday may be smarter because larger sizes reportedly see deeper discounts than 42-inch or 48-inch models.

FYI: No returns on 37"+ monitors/TV's from B&H Photo. Maybe other, better retailers will price match?

The larger sizes seem to go on sale way more often and at a much deeper discount than 42" and 48" from recent research I've completed. Might be best to shoot for 55" AND wait for Black Friday.

I have a 42" C2. It is fantastic, the high dpi due to the smaller screen size really make this tv a gem.

Agree with SkylarP. Only the 48,77,83inch have the new Tandem OLED panel. The other C6 sizes have the older WOLED panel. The Tandem panel is a noticeable upgrade.

It's quite odd that LG skipped the Tandem panel for the 65" and 55".

Thanks for the deal alert. Been after a C6 this year to replace a 48" Gigabyte Aorus gaming TV monitor that has been slowly dying. Wanted to step down to the 42" for viewing comfort.

I wanted that Gigabyte so bad when it was on sale a couple years back. What are you experiencing with it?

Real good deal. I use it as a computer monitor as well as gaming. The size is perfect for both. Also great as a tv when you want to Watch it.

The power protection for screen burn in on the OSD keeps popping up even after running the 5 minute cycle. Even unplugging and then plugging back in will fix it short term, but within a couple days it keeps popping up the OSD dead center of the screen. Since Gigabyte basically abandoned any firmware updates, I'm stuck with it. That, and I did end up with burn in on the Win11 start bar location at bottom which is on me. I should have had it set to hide when not in use. The 1 hour cycle did not address it and Gigabyte said I'm out of warranty.
