5000 mAh battery has got to be a typo. That's HUGE for a keyboard and I don't trust that for a second. Every other keyboard is much less. I'd love to be wrong, however. I use a usb cable on my wireless Koorui keyboard bc I hate that the light turns off after 30sec and there's no way to have it always on.

From their website, the Blitz B79 which appears to be identical except for the USB-A cable, also has a 5000mAh battery. They rate it for 3700hrs RGB off, 270hrs RGB on, both via Bluetooth.

There are mechanical keyboards from the past few years that have large batteries. For example, Keybaytech NV-70 has a 5,000 mAh battery. Swagkeys Smuve80 has a 8,000 mAh battery

Mine arrived today, and I can confirm it does have a 5000mAh battery. Really hefty and solid feeling build quality, with light actuation and nicely oiled keycaps. I had been looking for a keyboard in the 75% form factor that had a dedicated control knob/volume and this one definitely does the trick, I have a separate 8bitdo numpad-only for dedicated number crunching that also has its own LED screen to work as a standalone calculator. A little noisier than I'd prefer but other than that really happy with the purchase.

Thinking about this with the see thru caps vs my pudding keys. Only thing holding back is that my current kb has a screen showing time, which I find super convenient.

Received it earlier today and tested it. The key for 'v' is defective. Pressing it 5 times consecutively usually will only show 2, 3, or 4 of it. Have asked for a replacement.
It does look solid.

Can you see how your charging indicator operates? I'm a bit confused what it's supposed to show. I plug mine into usbc and it flashes amber 10 times which means it's charging and then goes off and then nothing.

EDIT: Never mind! It blinks and goes off but when fully charged it comes back on (green).

Mine has a terrible spongey keyboard. Going exchange and see how the replacement is.

It WAS about cost - there was no good reason to put 2 lithium-ion batteries in a keyboard if 1 can do the work. Now there is a reason: the used car battery degrades to the point they can't drive a car but works perfectly fine for a keyboard or small toy. Those recycled batteries are dirt cheap and it now actually makes economic sense to use the large-capacity batteries. With the first gen EV retiring from the road, the toy and small electronics market is now flooded with large-capacity batteries like never before.

That's an interesting thought, and I have no doubt those recycled cells are showing up across the market, but it seems unlikely they would show up here in a keyboard. Using the first gen Model S as an example, the individual 18650 battery cells used are a little too big to fit into a keyboard of this size, and are only rated at 3100maH, which is still only 62% of the rated capacity of this keyboard. Meanwhile, the pouch batteries found in cell phones are much thinner and packaged correctly for a keyboard of this size. Checking on Aliexpress I can find a 5000mAh replacement battery for a motorola on sale for $7.79. If they are using recycled batteries in this, they're much more likely coming from old cell phones rather than old EVs. In any case, it would still be a bit misleading to claim the original full capacity of the used battery, when it likely has considerably less at this point.

Did you open it up? What kind of battery does it have?
