Anyone try freezing these I saw a YouTuber lance Hendricks about freezing for 6 months but wondering if any regular coffee people have had luck with this. Thanks. Good deal!

Yes, I have several pounds in my freezer from last year but this might not be the best price for doing that it's.
It's not uncommon to see them for less than $14/bag on amazon. In the summer I saw them at costco for $9.99
Also if it's stored well it can be kept indefinitely.
I don't remember Hoffman ever putting frozen beans on a timeline

Freezing coffee beans makes them bitter. I don't recommend if you can help it.

Your bag may have already been bad or not sealed. Freezing beans in the original sealed bags will keep them very well.
You can put an opened bag (closed tightly with rubber bands) in the freezer too. That extends the beans for a month or two. Oxygen is more available so the beans will degrade. But much more slowly than on the counter.
