Huh. That's like cool and stuff. I got two rocks that need polishing, but this looks like it might hurt. Big Grin

Thumbs up for deal that is "Not Another Piece of Plastic Reshaped Into Something Marginally Useful."

I wanted to get into this, until I learned it literally takes 4-6 weeks of the loud tumbler running 24/7 to even get a couple shiny rocks.

I'll just go to a museum gift shop if I want pretty polished rocks.

Hundreds of years of work you are getting in 4-6 weeks and still complaining!

4-6 weeks, minimum. I've had some rocks take six months.

You can get a double barrel tumbler at Harbor Freight for $80 retail (or less when on sale). Couldn't imagine paying double that for this. I have two of the HF tumblers and they work fine.

I don't see why you couldn't polish minerals, though you really wouldn't traditionally call something like this a "mineral tumbler".

We use this for pieces of glass. They're done much faster than rocks and there's a big market for it. My GF makes driftwood and glass artsy projects that sell really well.
