The physical copy inside the store is not the foil limited edition. ($62.99)

I can think of three reasons.
Resale. Collectible. You actually own the game.

This digital Switch 2 version of Ocarina of Time is being praised for its beautiful visual overhaul, smooth gameplay, and faithful feel that still plays like the original with modern graphics. The more linear, peaceful structure makes it an easy pick for kids, casual players, or anyone wanting a relaxing game after work. The main drawback is the price, since cheaper routes exist through discounted Nintendo or Costco gift cards, and the deal can be finicky if the wrong fulfillment option is selected. It is a solid way to revisit a classic if convenience matters more than squeezing out the absolute lowest cost.

Common Questions (4)

  • Buying discounted Nintendo eShop gift cards first can lower the effective price. Costco's $100 Nintendo gift cards for $80 bring the game to about $48, and other routes like $60 in Nintendo gift cards for $51 or $10 eShop cards for $9 can also reduce the final cost.

  • Yes, the digital version can be shared across multiple Switch 2 consoles in the same household, so several people can play without swapping cartridges. That makes it especially useful when more than one person wants to play at the same time.

  • No, the in-store physical copy is not the foil limited edition. The store copy is listed at $62.99, while the foil/holographic version is the one people describe as especially attractive.

  • The checkout option may need to be set to "delivery" instead of "shipped" for the coupon to apply. Switching to delivery reportedly makes the discount work because it routes the order through local Walmart delivery.

Worked for me and I shop at Walmart constantly
Same here. Also worked for two people at work I shared the code with and they shop there more than I do. The frustrating part was not really knowing why it didn't work for everyone.

Get physical at all costs
It's not the right choice for everyone. I have multiple Switch 2's in my house for example, and buying digital means multiple people can play at once. No kids moving tiny cartridges back and forth, no arguing over who gets to play.

Worked for me too, and I shop at walmart now and then. I think part of the issue might have been you had to add it to your cart as "delivery" and not "shipped" for the coupon to work. At least I remember it didn't work for me until I changed it to "delivery". Delivery means it will get "delivered" from your local walmart. They really should have a better way of differentiating the two.
