This digital Switch 2 version of Ocarina of Time is being praised for its beautiful visual overhaul, smooth gameplay, and faithful feel that still plays like the original with modern graphics. The more linear, peaceful structure makes it an easy pick for kids, casual players, or anyone wanting a relaxing game after work. The main drawback is the price, since cheaper routes exist through discounted Nintendo or Costco gift cards, and the deal can be finicky if the wrong fulfillment option is selected. It is a solid way to revisit a classic if convenience matters more than squeezing out the absolute lowest cost.

  • Costco $100 Nintendo gift cards sold for $80 can effectively bring the digital code cost down to about $48.

  • Costco eShop gift cards can be bought at a 20% discount and the gift card email arrives nearly immediately.

  • The reimagined world looks beautiful and the gameplay feels very smooth after starting the game.

  • Digital purchase can reduce cartridge swapping and contention when multiple Switch 2 consoles are in the same household.

  • The in-store physical copy at Costco is not the foil limited edition that is listed at $62.99.

  • The digital code can fail for some recipients, and the failure reason may be unclear.

  • Coupon savings may fail if the order is set up with the wrong fulfillment option, such as choosing shipped instead of delivery.

  • The game's appeal may be limited for players who want more exploration and challenge compared with BOTW and TOTK.

This game is a 10/10 but if you didn't preorder yours on Walmart or Amazon what were you even doing? They were $59.88 and foil edition.
It was $50+tax at Walmart if you had the (admittedly finicky) coupon and preordered.

Costco has eshop gift cards on sale for 20% off 11/6 thru 11/8.

Inarguably a better deal to buy the gift cards then buy the game from the eshop directly.

Gift cards email nearly immediately.

So this is the lowest price on this game.$51 methodGo to CardBear and buy $60 worth of Nintendo Gift Card for $51 (15% off)If you have a Sam's Club, you can get the gift card for even less.Go to Nintendo to redeem your gift cardGo to Nintendo to buy Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time for $59.99Final Price is $51
Costco has $100 of Nintendo gift cards for $80. Making it essentially $48 digitally.

Game is fantastic btw. Feels just like the original but with modern graphics.

The coupon was nonsense, it didn't work for anyone but the 2 people who had never shopped at Walmart.com before.

Got mine for $50 from Walmart! Played it yesterday evening, it's so good. The best game ever fully remade in beautiful HD.

Got mine yesterday from Amazon at $60. Was unable to replicate Walmart $50.

Great game, very nice visual update. I would always recommend physical.

I played this for an embarrassing length of time last night after all the kids were in bed...

Truly amazing experience! My expectations were super high and it's surpassed them so far. This game is so good.

Also, this might be a hot take, but I think this release is really going to make people rethink their opinion of BotW.. I just don't think it holds a candle to OoT

Agreed. I just got to playing it late last night. I am completely blown away with how beautiful the reimagining is of the world and how incredibly smooth the gameplay is.

Having played through BOTW completely 4 times and helped my kids at least another 1-2 playthroughs worth and TOTK 2-3 times, you are comparing apples to oranges.

OOT is a great change of pace from the others. They did awesome on the graphics, peaceful music, and overall a more peaceful experience if you don't want to worry about breaking weapons, cooking food, grinding, difficult monsters etc.
It is just more straight forward and thus, easier for many people to to jump into (kids or casual gamers) and a more relaxing dynamic for me to mindlessly play after a long day at work. Feels like I haven't had a game like this in awhile and I appreciate it.

If you want less linear, more challenge, more exploration, and replay-ability, the others are where it is at.

I am very annoyed at how they didn;t add a dungeon so I hate to even get a switch 2 now. Plus would rather have physical. Maybe I should sue my signup bonus of $20 and get the physical, though, and then cancel membership.
Dude, like 90% of your statement makes no sense. Are you on the right post?
