I have a lot of different hammers including mallets. Do I need a brass hammer?

this one is far less prone to marring steel surfaces. it's a handy tool if you need to give something a love tap without marking it, or by masking off a gasket surface by taping over it and then cutting the tape by hitting the edge with a hammer like this.

They all end up looking like a Dinobot's chew toy unless you dress them.

What's the point of these? Non-sparking or JUST softer metal for non-marring?

Curious too. I usually throw a block of wood in front of a hammer/mallet and wonder if I have been doing it wrong my whole life? I do appreciate brass punches for steel pins, but not sure if I would use this. My estate sale is going to be great thanks to SD over the years.

Brass is non sparking, useful for removing fuel pump ring locks on in tank fuel pumps. Use in conjunction with brass punch if required.

Brass is 100% capable of marring depending on what it is used on!

Brass hammer. When you need to beat the hell out of something....but still want to be delicate.
