Tempting. I want an audiophile level set of headphones. I like the idea of getting a $500 pair for $380. But now I have to enter the rabbit hole of research to see if this $380 is worth it compared to other options. (And I'm trusting AI recommendations less by the day given the advertising tie ins)

I'm curious whether it's perceptibly better than the 600 or 6xx, assuming it has the same house sound, but not $380 curious!

They're supposed to be good headphones. I've never been disappointed with Sennheiser headphones, from $20 to thousands of dollars, except for the Massdrop 6xx (garbage).

I purchased one and I love listening to mine. I am using my 15 year old PC because I installed the ASUS Xonar ST. I'm running it at 300ohms and using Apple Music Lossless. It's the best headphone I've ever owned.

I would opt for the "sennheiser hd490 pro plus repack" stock from alto music. Hard to say what kind of sound will wow you at any price point if you haven't experienced different sound signatures and learned a little about reading frequency response graphs. Graphs don't tell the whole story of what you end up hearing once they're on your unique anatomy, but they help visualize some of the differences you hear between sets. Meze 105 aer, hifiman edition xs with aftermarket capra strap or Aune ar3000 are all worth checking out. Especially the refurbished xs from aliexpress and capra strap

Another option is Audeze LCD-2 on Black Friday.
