You could chance it... nothing ventured, nothing gained. Or you could call the company and ask.

What you can do is do nothing for now, call the rebate company after 8 weeks or so and ask them to check you rebate status (they're going to tell you they don't have your record because you never send in the rebate form). They'll then ask you to resubmit everything, at that time, mail them a COPY (not the original because you don't have them anymore as you have already mailed them when you submitted your rebate 8 weeks ago) of everything that the rebate requires. They'll then reprocess your rebate request and there shouldn't be any problem. This will prevent them from rejecting your rebate because you mail your request too late. I don't think this is unethical as you really bought their product and should get you rebate money back. I hope this helps.

I don't think it is unethical, either. Not only did you buy their product eligible for a rebate, but it is a known fact that many companies bend the rules to not pay out rebates. I have lost several hundred dollars due to rebate trickery and am searching for paperwork right now to get another one paid.

I was a day late on a rebate for $200. It was denied. After two phone calls, a rep told me that they had the permission from the manufacturer to give a week grace on the submission date. I re-submitted, and they took it.
