RETIRED: A "Hey I just watched a movie" thread

One of the other forums I go to has one of these threads and I've been turned on to some good movies that other regulars just watched. I was kind of surprised not to see a similar thread here (at least not that I could find.) Big Grin

I just rewatched "Kinamand" - a cute drama about a Danish plumber who gets involved in an arranged marriage with a Chinese illegal. Good stuff (Netflix instant.)

So what have you folks watched recently?

Paradise Lost 2: Revelations. Documentaries don't have an agenda but thankfully this one did.
Alex Trebek would be furious and say, "It's Revelation! No "s"." (I don't mean the movie. He's always saying that about the book of the Bible.)

Quote from LinuxChick :
Movie trivia time! The lines though slightly altered, originated from the 1947 Cary Grant film The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer. He has the exchange with a young girl who has a crush on his character - a much older man:

Hey, you remind me of a man.
What man?
Man with the power.
What power?
Power of hoodoo.
Hoodoo?
You do.
Do what?
Remind me of a man...
Cool!

we watched 2 movies last night

The Social Network we thought was really good, but we also thought a few things were probably exaggerated for dramatic effect. I would be interested in reading the book, if one exists.

Knight and Day was the most unbelievable piece of crap ever, but we laughed a lot. laugh out loud

I think Sorkin said Social Network was mostly based off of court transcripts but I think the best friend did write a book. One aspect that I know was completely made up for the movie was that Zuckerberg had a girlfriend the entire time he was creating Facebook.

My wife and I just watched The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo on Netflix Watch Instantly and it was awesome. I was thrown off by the subtitles at first and the fact that I kept hearing The Swedish Chef in my head but I got used to it pretty quickly. BORK BORK BORK!

You mean the best friend, right? Zuckerberg got broken up with in the beginning and never had a girlfriend in the show - just the cute girl who did things to him in the boy's bathroom that night laugh out loud

I meant Zuckerberg has said in interviews he really did have a girlfriend so the whole "creating it to impress a girl who shot him down" thing was just made up.

Oh, and as I stated in another thread this week...I watched Labyrinth for the first time this week (without seeing this thread).

As I also stated there:

You remind me of The Babe
What babe?
The babe with The Power
What power?
The power of Voodoo
Who do?
You do
Do what?
Remind me of The Babe
Any thoughts on the codpiece?

Yeah, I think I'll go into that one with expectations fully lowered if I end up watching it Prop

Which one is the sequel? The Girl Who Played with Fire or the kicking over the hornet's nest one?
