RETIRED: A "Hey I just watched a movie" thread

One of the other forums I go to has one of these threads and I've been turned on to some good movies that other regulars just watched. I was kind of surprised not to see a similar thread here (at least not that I could find.) Big Grin

I just rewatched "Kinamand" - a cute drama about a Danish plumber who gets involved in an arranged marriage with a Chinese illegal. Good stuff (Netflix instant.)

So what have you folks watched recently?

Ondine - Watched this last night and thought it was pretty good. I enjoyed the scenery, was filmed on a coast in Ireland, and it was mythical but not too much. It's about a fisherman (Colin Farrell) who catches a water nymph (Selkie) in his net. I really enjoyed the little girl in this film too.

We celebrated "bad movie night" by watching The Wicker Man.

It was unintentionally hilarious laugh out loud

Haven't watched the remake and don't intend to but this best of The Wicker Man montage is hilarious, I love the bear punch. LMAO

Hereafter - Decent film with an interesting perspective on after life. I found myself thinking about after life a lot after watching this film. Solid actors, writing, directing. 7/10

Unstoppable - first it was like a remake almost of The Taking of Pelham 123 but then it got pretty cool for a movie that was simply about an out of control train carrying explosives.

Do you think the M rating would go up if the V rating was a little better? Or not really? I haven't watched this one yet.

i think it's because his actin has stayed same old same old, never evolvin, never changin. like who the hell wants to see a 50 year old man pretending to be 20 over & over. people get plum of tired of that I suppose?

For a ts, the V is not so bad... dark scenes are pixelated and only 1 bad russian haircut was visable for a short time. Its not a memorable movie and the action was pretty good, corny dialogue throughout... I was generous with the M as the price right... M = 3 at price of admission. ;-)

I agree. Loved it. Renewed my crush on Russell Crowe.

The Tourist - 2.5/5
Something was amiss in this movie. Depp and Jolie just did not click.
