One of the other forums I go to has one of these threads and I've been turned on to some good movies that other regulars just watched. I was kind of surprised not to see a similar thread here (at least not that I could find.) Big Grin

I just rewatched "Kinamand" - a cute drama about a Danish plumber who gets involved in an arranged marriage with a Chinese illegal. Good stuff (Netflix instant.)

So what have you folks watched recently?

Source Code was pretty good. When it was over, I felt like something was missing from it, but other than that, I liked it rather well. I was confused or something (not quite sure how I feel) about some parts with the timelines and such though.

Suckerpunch could have been really good. They had everything to make a good movie, but left out too much. It was disappointing and sad, but very pretty over all. I would have been happier if there were just at least some scenes that were a few seconds long from reality, but there weren't enough scenes in the real world. It left me feeling let down.

EDIT: I will say though, the music in the movie (Suckerpunch) was really good. I wouldn't buy the DVD, but I think I might be interested in buying the soundtrack, depending if all the songs from the movie are on it.
And apparently they cut the dance scenes due to time restrictions. You think they could have kept at least a minute of one so the audience isn't left completely in the dark, but oh well.

Surrogates - had wanted to see it for a long time. Good but not great for a Bruce Willis movie. The premise was great but something was missing.
Yeah, I felt the same way. Seems like it could have been more than an action movie with an interesting premise. I'll probably read the graphic novel and see if it fills in any of the gaps.

Insidious - 2.75/5 - My friend made me go to see this...I would not have ever paid full price to see this! Annoyed But anywho... the movie was better than most of these types of suspense/horror movies, it actually had a plot which many of these kind of film lack, it's mostly just chasing each other and scaring people or killing people. I'd say it's worth a watch if on TV or cheapo Tuesdays.

Sex and the City 2 - 1/5 - I didn't understand what was the need of this part what-so-ever... Scratchhead It felt like the movie was just for the sake of making the movie...not really any point. 1 point for location and costume.

Hey over the weekend I watched:

"Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps", skip it. Way too long and predictable and very, very dry.

"For Coloured Girls", ah very good but touching at the same time. I Crying

"This is it" I miss you MJ. I wish I could of seen him in those suits with the crystals. That would have been amazing.

Until next time. Bye

No Strings Attached

Cute but predictable. Still plenty of things to keep you laughing. Ashton is a hottie.

Women's Prison (1955)- The scare tactics (production code clearly in effect) about what happens behind bars was kinda funny but this was a really good film about love/marriage, jealousy, murder, cruelty, friendship, and justice. The last 10 minutes were a nail biter.

laugh out loud I was in a play called Women Behind Bars. My character's name was Cheri. I'll bet you can figure out what my role was like. Big Grin

Nope. I think someone else had that role.

I meant for the name to give it away.

No, I was a fruit. Duh.

Most recent movie - Kidulthood. 2/5 stars

The kids are hard to understand. They're all seaking some kind of Vanilla Ice babble. "Ya blood...blah blah me gehl blah blah dat uddah man blah..."

Made in the UK about how hard life is in the UK ghetto. Bullying, teenage pregnancy, gangs...enh. I remain unconvinced.

Okay. Sorry about that. I'm working on it. Sometimes, in my mind, I forget to put the "o" in your first name. Fortunately, I usually get it all sorted before I post.

"Boop-boop-a-doop-voiced Cheri Netherland, sent up the river for soliciting, extortion, and "peddling without a bicycle"

There. Maybe that'll help you sort it all out.
