One of the other forums I go to has one of these threads and I've been turned on to some good movies that other regulars just watched. I was kind of surprised not to see a similar thread here (at least not that I could find.) Big Grin

I just rewatched "Kinamand" - a cute drama about a Danish plumber who gets involved in an arranged marriage with a Chinese illegal. Good stuff (Netflix instant.)

So what have you folks watched recently?

Okay. Sorry about that. I'm working on it. Sometimes, in my mind, I forget to put the "o" in your first name. Fortunately, I usually get it all sorted before I post.

"Boop-boop-a-doop-voiced Cheri Netherland, sent up the river for soliciting, extortion, and "peddling without a bicycle"

There. Maybe that'll help you sort it all out.

Age of the Dragon 2/5- Moby Dick remake with Danny glover. Horrible movie, only good thing about it was the hot chick, but other then that a waste of time. Glad I watched it here at work on the clock lol

Wow. So SlicKitty played a lesbian? I was a secretary once in a play. Not nearly as risque.

Armored - typical heist gone super wrong. Waste of Matt Dillon and Jean Reno's talent. Milo Ventilmiglia (or however you spell his name) does the police officer role really well.

I did. I got to wear the classic Marilyn Monroe dress for the 2nd half of that play. I've got photos around here, somewhere. That may not be the most risque role I've played. It's probably the most risque scripted role, but I've done a lot of improv work, so it's tough to say.

Back on the movie train, we're watching Nip/Tuck...catching up. We're in the season with Hearts & Scalpels. laugh out loud

When can we expect you to post them? I played Bob Cratchett in a Christmas Story in 6th grade. The only part of it I really remember is eating a lot of vanilla pudding during the dinner scenes.

Does anybody know if Public Enemies is worth watching? It's been sitting on my table since Monday and I just can't bring myself to watch it.

laugh out loud I've never actually eaten during an eating scene. I just...well...act.

But in 6th grade, confronted with vanilla pudding, it was probably pretty hard to resist the temptation.

One of my favorite fake-outs was iced tea for whiskey. I wanted the real thing.

I don't think I'll ever post a useable photo of myself here. I posted one headshot once. I think people can't win. You post a photo of yourself as a girl and you don't know what people will do with it. It could end up somewhere you did NOT intend for it to go.

I remember watching that. I liked it.
You have to take my opinion with a grain of salt though, because I like Johnny Depp, both as an actor, and...well...ya know...

Yeah, it's cliche, but the "heart" wants what it wants.

Recently watched Mr. Foe - 4/5 - It's an indie movie about a guy who thinks his stepmother killed his mother, so he runs away from home, then runs back to exact revenge. While he's away, he meets a woman who looks like his mother, whom he watches from afar, while interacting with her each day. It didn't connect all of the dots as well as it could have, but overall, I enjoyed it.

Broken English - 2.5/5 - Enh. I'll write the summary later. Kind of a "woman can't find love" story. Slow.

Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland - loved it. I've never found Depp attractive until this role which uh is rather creepy considering he was CGI'd.

I should give up watching movies based on books that I've read.

Girl who kick the hornet's nest - probably ok if you didn't read the book. Horrible if you did.

the movie was just ok. i just couldn't get into the books no matter how much i tried. at least i got to see the series. hopefully the american versions are better, but they're starring rooney mara the girl from social network. doubt it'd be better.

if you want a non fiction to read.. lauren hillenbrand's unbroken is amazingly well written. its about a ww2 pilot lost at sea in the pacific and his plight.

He's barely in it! Kind of funny, in a way.
