As you probably already know, there is a frenzy for the $99 and $149 HP Tablets. The thread in the Hot Deals is breaking records for number of posts and viewers.

Did you get one? How many (so far)? Doesn't matter how many are confirmed, just how many you ordered.

Are they for an Orphanage? laugh out loud

Bought two 16 gigs. Was hoping to sell one to pay for the other, but by the time I get one, the market will probably be way too over-saturated.

Rumor is that order placed after a certain time will all be canceled. I also noticed on their own website that there's a "limit 1 per customer". I mean there's no magic: OnSite is a small company and it's impossible for it to fulfill all the orders though amazon, thousands of them I guess.

I ordered 5 - one from OD, two from BN, two from OnSale.com via Amazon.

The OD order is listed as shipping and the BN order is cancelled, and the OnSale.com one is likely to get cancelled, so I'll probably only end up actually receiving one.

Obviously resale prices will spike once Honeycomb and ICS is ported over. Then again, the resale value of these could be farked if Amazon produces a cheap tablet soon.

I hope that you guys who bought loads of them to resell on eBay know that nobody is going to buy them at a high price tag. So, you're not likely to make much, if any profit at all off of them. There are still too many out there that haven't been discounted yet. Also, why would people bid high prices on items that were originally bought for $100. So, if you decide to sell it on eBay, only expect to get the price you put into it plus $5-$10 shipping. Nobody in their right mind would pay more for these. Don't think about skimming a little profit on shipping. Any normal person with a brain would know that it wouldn't take anymore than $10 to ship, so forget about asking $20 on the shipping price.

Important Reasons Why Profiteering Fails on the HP TouchPad
1. They're being discontinued and will quickly lose value in time as newer technology comes out.
2. There will be so many who are first to put theirs on eBay that the auction market will be overly saturated.
3. There are many other choices with more potential that people are willing to wait and save up their money for instead of buying this device.
