How Greedy? How many HP Tablets Purchased?

As you probably already know, there is a frenzy for the $99 and $149 HP Tablets. The thread in the Hot Deals is breaking records for number of posts and viewers.

Did you get one? How many (so far)? Doesn't matter how many are confirmed, just how many you ordered.

Are they for an Orphanage? laugh out loud

I was able to get three, two 32GB from HP and one 16GB from TD. I was expecting cancellations but I guess I lucked out. Keeping one of the 32's and the others are already spoken for by family.

got 200 from ebay and sold 198 (16 gb) made $18000 after fees
got 1 from BB (32 gb)

I squeezed an order in at BJs wholesale from the link here at SD yesterday. Made the purchase and immediately went back through to get another one for myself (first for my dad) and they were "sold out." I fully expected the BJs order to fall the way of Barnes & Noble. But I got confirmation later Tuesday night, then when I got a Fed Ex tracking number I felt home free.

Therefore I proceeded to look for accessories and saw the list for BB here on SD. I placed a "pick up in store" order that was fulfilled about 30 minutes later. So I ambled on to BB and wandered around the store some just killing time and seeing if there were any touchpads hidden in locked cages or on top of storage areas. Anyway, I saw nothing and went to go get into the pick up line and there was a "Geek" guy standing there with a few items in his hand. One box looked intriguing and I kind of stared at it for a moment. He then says "you looking for a touchpad?" I say sure. He says it a 32gb and I say OK i'll take it. He then hands it to me and walks away. Time was about 4pm (EST).

Damn, talk about right place at the right time!

I know, that's how I felt after I got faked out on all my other orders; I did Macmall via phone (thanks to SDer who posted in the middle of the frenzy when online orders were hitting wall) and was on hold for an hour at 3 am. When I suddenly got through, I choked and only ordered one when the rep asked me how many I wanted. He would have sold me more, but I thought BN would come through. Everything else fell through and still have 257 dollars docked on my debit card from those SOBs at SMB

I got 1, I just wanted a tablet for personal use (not profit) :| Ironically I bought it off a customer while I was ringing up an acer iconia for him :\ (I work at wal-mart). I had to pay extra $35 or so ($200 for a 32gb) but it seems impossible to get one now without being in the right time, right place, with a car, fast internet, and a ton of luck :3

I don't know why the retailers did not limit it to (1) per customer/per address! It's people who are greedy who ruin it for others. A lot of grocery stores that have a really good deal on something have a limit of 2 per person and if you buy more, the additional quantity is at full price... There's no need for people to be ordering more then two, just for profit or resale. You are buying from a retailer, not a wholesaler so your purchase is not supposed to be for resale, it's intended for personal use ONLY!

It's a cool little device but tablets aren't for me, I miss the keyboard too much. Good for casual use. Should have got a Pre 2 but was too busy ordering the Touchpad.

No luck finding accessories, I want the touchstone.

I'm not saying it's a bad deal. Rather, why would HP be dumping these this quickly?

If you really want a touchpad to fill some niche in your life, you'll get one regardless of the price (within reason). However, if you're just buying one because it's $100-$150, I imagine most people will use it for a few weeks, maybe months and then forget about it.

But, everyone jumping on this, I really wonder how many people will be using it in the future. As great as the iphone 4 and coming iphone 5 is, in four years, those devices will be sitting in desk drawers and never looked at.

I think we should start the poll over. I voted originally because I thought my onsale via amazon was coming. This was not the case, and I think a lot of people got their ordered canceled since then.
