Maaco $199 Paint Special Ambassador

0 Deal Score

Maaco has a promotion running right now. For $199 they offer the most basic paint service with 2 years warranty. Ding, scratch, sanding not included. This is confirmed in NJ, I do not know about other regions.

Also you can get 10% off using Geico privileges. https://www.geicoprivileges.com/m...YcOt593635

This is a great price if you do the following things:

1 Remove all trim and plastic body moldings
2 Appy an industrial grease remover to your car
3 Presand the car yourself, Takes about 6 hours of work using an
electric sander ...

bring in the separate body moldings when you have the car painted
and ask them to add a flex againt to the paint for these parts...
The standard paint they use doesnt have this and if used.. anything
that hits or bumps that pannel the paint will spider and peel off..

If you do the prepwork your self and reassemble the trim your car
will turn out as if you had a $1000 paint job...
The whole key on the $199 job is the time... If you invest some of your
own before your car will turn out great...

They use the same paint as in $$$ shops just buy colors in
volume Thats why they offer so few colors...

Remember to ask for the flex agent for the trim pieces... They will
supply that...

Hope this helps those who want a LASTING paint job...

Maaco's are independantly owned. The quality you get varies greatly from store to store. There is one near me that I would recomend. the people have worked there for a long time and have a good reputation.
I wouldnt get the ambassador unless you plan on selling the car the day after you get it painted, but the supreme or signature look pretty good.
The one near me uses 2k primer and dupont paints.
Hard to believe anyone would paint over bird droppings and expect the customer to pay for the paint job.
agree. its entirely based upon the job. a $199 job will most likely look like a $199 job.
my dad got an excellent paint job there for about $500. i had heard bad things about
maaco and recommended he did not go. when I got it back I was extremely impressed
by the quality. however, I've heard horrible things about the shops as well. its a big ymmv
depending upon the shop.

You get what you pay for! I had a terrible experience with "that" place. I had to take them to small claims court....... Frown

this ambassdor job you really get you what you pay for. They don't even clean the existing paint, much less sand it. They will just paint over dirt, bird shit, whatever crap you have stuck on there
