Our daughter was selected to be a Peer Mediator this year - it's a group of about 15 7th and 8th graders who work with the school counselors to help with issues students may be having. I think there are around 700 students in the school. She did two days of training last Thursday and Friday. Haley is shy but extremely empathetic, so I think it will be good for her and that she'll do well with it.

I pulled a picca today. I and my 6 items went to the 20 items or less line. I started counting out loud at 15. I ended at 27 items. The person in front never turned around or said anything. They paid quickly and left. Whee

The sad part? I started counting when I got in line. The cashier told me that they had 48 items. Facepalm

I think the registers in those lines should stop at whatever the maximum items is (6 or 8 or whatever) maybe one or two above that to give the benefit of the doubt. When it reaches that number it should just stop and ring up a total and that's all they get. If they want the rest they have to go back through the line.
