I was at my local watering hole and enjoying some brews w/ the boys when I noticed a hot girl w/ your typical f--- me tat on her lower back.
You can tell it was a fresh tattoo and it was in Japanese kanji that I so happen can read a little
Being the lil bastard I am I went up to her and asked if she had any idea what was on her back. She said it was Japanese for dragon. I corrected her, "No, its "baishun". Prostitute in Japanese." She got furious! I then asked who did her tat. She wouldn't answer. Then the tears started flowing. Man she just lost it. I guess it didn't help that she was pretty drunk. She kept yelling at her fellow blonde circle of friends "What's a baishun??? What's a baishun??? He said it meant dragon!" Even more weeping after that. ROFL drunk girls are so gullible. It really did say dragon.
Yeah, it got loud and silly.

Most of us found it funny. That niece whined loudly "Aunt Jane!!!!!!!!" My brother just about had beer come out his nose

hubby and i both have tats, but not something that we would question the meaning of at a bar!

I know, I know...I'm a horribly immature, bad person.
It's only that funny to me because there was this one time I was down in Venice (CA, not Italy) and a bunch of us decided to get henna tattoos. A few friends were looking over the kanji, when a group of Japanese guys walked up, pointed to the samples on the board, and started laughing hysterically. We asked them what the joke was, and they pointed to one and said, "That doesn't say 'USA'... it says 'rice'!" I've never contemplated getting any Asian language characters on me again, except my name.. in Chinese... which is really my name, and my parents can write it out for me.

It's not silly and uncalled for at all. It was a joke, and there are several reasons why no one should feel sorry for the girl at the bar. One being that before anyone gets something marked forever on their body, they should do their own research and be sure themselves that what it says is what they want it to say rather than taking the word of some guy in a tatoo parlor. Another being that if anyones insecurities were being brought to light, it's the girl's at the bar. She was the one who was so concerned with the image on her body (see reason number 1)
Sounds funny to me.
