Is Otel.com a legit site?

I had never heard of Otel.com before and it the only site that is showing availability for hotel that all others, even the hotel's own web site shows as unavailable. So was wondering if the site is legit or not?

I've never heard of it. Have you tried calling the hotel directly to ask about availability? It could be a legit site or it could be an easy way for people looking for hotel(dot)com/hotels(dot)com to be relocated to their site. I looked it up and it seems to have some mixed reviews.

Yes, I did call the hotel directly and they confirmed that there was no availability for the dates. Do these sites maybe pre-purchase rooms from the Hotels and resell them?

I believe that is what they do, but I'm not entirely sure how the deal works out. Personally, I would look for another hotel unless you have to have that one.

It was the Coco Key Hotel and Water Resort in Orlando and it seemed like a great place for kids and cheaper than Nickelodeon hotel in Orlando. But now we have postponed the trip so will research further. Thanks.

The website otel.com was opened in February 2004 and the name was chosen because otel means Hotel in Turkish. I have personally worked with the company for more than 11 years and will be happy to assist you with any queries.

If we have availability and the hotel does not, then this is because our room(s) have come from allotment. It is possible that the hotel has no run of house rooms available because they have already allotted their rooms to wholesalers.

Thank you for yout post theJ129. As we are a partner of the website Measured Up I have asked for the clients tracking number. Withour a reference to the posters complaint I cant comment but it sounds to me as if the person who posted this complaint had selected a hotel that was 'On request' rather than one being available with instant confirmation. Refunds are made at the time and appear when the accepting bank has processed it. If at any time we are notified of a problem then we take this most seriously and do our upmost to rectify to the clients satisfaction.

I booked my wife's Vegas hotel through them last year with absolutely no issues whatsoever. It was significantly less than the hotel & other sites so I was somewhat skeptical. After digging & contacting them directly I booked. I would definitely use them again.

You can always rent out a timeshare. There are tons of great resorts in Orlando. If you're interested, I have a week I can rent out. I had to cancelFrown Either way, good luck!

I wanted to book in a Cancun hotel and nobody had rooms, then I called the hotel and they were booked, so I booked at Otel.com and when I got to the hotel the reservations where LEGIT, we paid half of the regular prices, I also booked in another hotel 1 year later in Acapulco and then in Las Vegas y everything was just fine. If you guys have doubts just book with a credit card so you can get refunded in any case, but I didn't have any problems with my 3 reservations and saved a lot of money!!

I booked through OTEL a couple years ago....also hesistant because of great prices -- but was no problem whatsoever.

Everything was fine....of course that was a couple of years ago...but I would personally use them again.
