I know that there are a few of you.
I have a lot of time on my hands, so I'm attempting some new things. I'm actually using patterns now, where before I just knitted whatever came about.
I'm beginning to realize that I only have small needles and I'm becoming a yarn snob.
I knitted a hat for my nephew, one for myself (no patterns), a baby-carrier (no pattern), and now I'm going to start working on some fingerless gloves.
Anyone else? Any deals on good yarn, needles, etc.?

Another great thing to donate to! Plus you don't have to worry about buying the best yarn for it... anything will do.
My local knit group requires that we each donate one chemo cap a month....most do several more than that...perhaps I'll mention the needs of the kitties too.

Dale Anne's Chemo Cap
Size 8 - 16" circular needle, and either another size 8 circular
or size 8 double points for use when decreasing.
Worsted weight yarn.
Cast on 72 stitches.
K2, P2 for 6 rows.
K each row until cap measures
6-1/2" from start.
Begin Decreases:
1st decrease: *K6, k2tog* (repeat around). Knit next row.
2nd decrease: *K5, k2tog* (repeat around). Knit next row.
3rd decrease: *K4, k2tog* (repeat around). Knit next row.
4th decrease: *K3, k2tog* (repeat around).
5th decrease: *K2, k2tog* (repeat around).
6th decrease: *K1, k2tog* (repeat around).
7th decrease: *k2tog* (repeat around); then pull yarn through remaining
stitches with a tapestry needle. Pull end through to the inside
of the hat, weave in, and trim.
This an easy cap to make. If you'd like a tighter ribbing, use a size 7 circular needle. Also, to accommodate larger heads, you can add stitches in increments of eight. If making a wider cap, you may also want to make it longer before starting your decreases.

Right now, I'm working on my own pattern (read: I'm just knitting away...without a pattern) for a tea cozy. I know that sounds ridiculously old-fashioned, but while I've been whittling away my hours at home, I've gone through a lot of tea, and I'm sick of it growing cold.

By the way, I've been trying some knitting podcasts, and may I just say...CREEPY!
There are one or two good ones, but wow are there some strange people in the world. The other day, I listened to one called "Just Linda Knitting"...and she wasn't joking. It was literally a 1 hr. broadcast of the sounds of this woman knitting. It was like a train wreck. I couldn't turn away. I just kept thinking, "Naw...it MUST get better, right? She CAN'T possibly do THIS for an hour, can she?" Oh yes, she can.
