The *official* "Screw you Bill Belichick, get the hell out of my favorite sport, you're ruining the game" thread about the lack any New England Patriots sportsmanship (Now w/ POLL)

24,865 1,948 October 28, 2007 at 05:44 PM in Rant
Quick open letter to the head coach of the Patriots:

Dear Mr. Bill,

You're the head coach of the best team in football, congratulations on your tremendous efforts. Now fark off and leave the sport to those that do not just consider it simply a business because you're sucking the fun out of the game and ruining this sport for not only fans of the teams you embarass, but kids that are learning about something you seem to totally lack: sportsmanship.

Its easier to explain Janet Jackson's floppy booby during a wardrobe malfunction than the planned and continued deliberate actions taken by the players under your direction. Sure its your job to win games, are you not good enough to do it without constantly skirting the rules, using deception and just out and out farking cheating? You're a dirty, unkempt, embarassment to the game.

Get the hell out of the sport.

Sincerely,
- Fans of the NFL and the ultimate purveyors of your salary
Against which team would Tom Brady most likely suffer a career-ending injury?

New poll should be "Will the Patriots ever win another Super Bowl with Bill Belichick as head coach?"

As neither a Jets or a Pats fan I may not hear all the stuff that is said but I'm sorry a team that knowingly violates the rules of the game to the extent they did shows a lack of class and a team that has excessive celebration on the home teams 50 yard line also shows a lack of class. Remember Owens on the Dallas star? That was no class and the Pats didn't do a whole lot different so while it's one thing to call one team classless it's completely another thing to completely forget about the classless things the Pats have done over the past few years...
Again.. Yawn Jets at exponentially worse than the Patriots. Spygate was a joke.. Every team did it and I wouldn't be surprised if some still did. Pats just got made an example of and then went on an 18-1 tear just to prove they can still win.

It's whatever though, haters gonna hate, on both sides of the coin..

How was the Jets worse? The Jets did their flight boys thing which is their own celebration relating to their team and their fans. When the Pats won in December, they didn't use their own celebration, they used OURS, with several pats doing the 'jet' motion all over the field. It's exponentially worse when you take another team's celebration and mock them with it.

PS- Even Mr. Patriot himself Teddy Bruschi basically told Branch to shut the hell up:

Oh, and lol at "18-1 tear". Yea, just forget to mention that the loss was the biggest choke job of all time in the Super Bowl, and that you haven't won a playoff game since and have seen 4 seasons end in despair since Spygate. You reap what you sow, couldn't have happened to a better franchise.

Quote :
After the game, receiver Deion Branch talked about some of the Jets showing a lack of class. I'm not with him on this one. I'm sure he felt terribly about the loss, but I think if the Patriots had won this game, they'd have had a similar reaction at the end of the game.
Quote :
In 2006, when we beat the San Diego Chargers, players stood on the logo and did Shawne Merriman's "Lights Out" dance. In the 45-3 victory over the Jets in the regular season, Patriots players were celebrating by doing the "Jet" around the field with their arms outstretched. So to see the Jets fly their Jets around the field and in the end zone, and Shonn Greene use the football as a pillow because he was putting the Patriots to sleep, that's what you should have expected to see. It was a knockout blow. The game was over.

Talk has never annoyed me. There's no rule that you have to be humble in sports. What annoys me the most are the pompous teams that try to pretend they're better than others when they aren't. The Pats aren't humble. They're smug and pompous. They taunt and talk shit all the time. Mr. Classy Deion Branch himself was talking shit during the game yesterday after one of his meaningless catches. It's downright amusing how Brady gets treated like Jesus by the NFL with some of his taunting antics ignored but a guy like Ocho Cinco gets fined for pretending he has a cell phone or something like that. I don't care if the Pats taunt. I don't care if they have a little fun at a press conference with some foot references or if they do the "Jet" after a huge win. But don't stand up and pretend like you're above that when you do the same exact shit. You're not better than us, not off the field and after yesterday, especially not on the field. But you know what, your postseason is much longer than ours, so whatever helps you sleep at night.

^^^^^---- this is the attitude that the rest of America hates and one of the reasons why we're so glad to pour it on such a self-serving community and team that holds themselves above the NFL.

Iagree pats fans.. how can you call any other org classless when you've been caught so many times, broken so many unspoken rules?

in 2001 their first superbowl win, that was a classy team. this go around isn't close to match them. reminder brady 10-0 first 10 starts. last 9? 4-5, with embarrassing favored losses at home mainly.

Classy my ass, to this day there're rumors that the Pats illegally taped the Rams walkthrough that year. Spygate taints ALL THREE of those championships, there should be asterisks in the record book at least, and have the titles vacated at worst. I really don't understand why cheating would even remotely ever be condoned.

you really think the pats wouldn't have beaten the rams that year? they had lucky plays, and a good game plan.

kinda like jets/pats this year. they had a better d plan, and made the key offensive plays when it counted to squeak by

fbo commentator said no matter how much you praise the jets.. according to jets fans you're still discounting them and want to kill them.

bilicheat's numbers are up. the jets defense confused brady and bilicheat, they could do nothing against the jets defense, why? because, bilicheat only had the old tapes of the his opponents.
he is sooo lost w/o his camcorder!

umm look farther. jets had a brilliant d scheme. disrupt the underneath crap with bumps and a safety dropped down. they dressed 11 db's (out of 45), and all had contributions. add in sean ellis playing the game of his career so they got pressure with 3 people and its a strategy few can do.

they pointed out all the pat's offense weaknesses. they don't have a receiver that can create separation. they don't have a rb. brady isn't a big ben type who can scramble around and buy time and make a play. if its not open he struggles.

I have no idea if they'd have beaten the Rams that year because I have no objective way of knowing how good that Pats team would've been without cheating.

Shaun Ellis played a great game no doubt but it's not particularly true that they got pressure with 3 rushers. All of those hits and sacks that Brady took were coverage sacks, the Jets just blanketed everyone down the field. What really made the difference this time around is that the Jets didn't go blitz crazy, they basically went back to the 46 that made them a great defense last year. Along with the front 3, they were constantly showing a 6 man front and sending one extra guy every time. Much of the time it was an option too, so whichever way Welker or Woodhead or one of the TEs went, the pressure came from the other end. The Coleman sack was a classic example. At first glance that looks like a blitz, he came in untouched. But they only rushed 4, there were 7 guys in coverage and Brady couldn't have done anything even if he read it right, because the Jets didn't sell out. They ran an option where if Woodhead went left Coleman would cover and Smith would blitz and if he went right the opposite. So the receivers were covered, a man came in untouched, and Brady was a dead duck. The only way to combat a defense like that is to rush the football. The Pats just never went to it. A receiver that could create separation wouldn't have helped that much, the Jets simply would've attached Revis to his hip and shut him down. The Jets best game vs the Pats this year was in Week 2 when they still had Moss.

So you're not buying the "we're not as bad as the Jets fans" excuse?

not taking anything away from the brilliant jets defense, or ryan's coaching, or the pat's poor offense, just that billicheat and billicheat's quarterback had no counter measures to offset the mixed jets coverages. if billicheat had his trusty camcorder and his videographer they could have predicted what the jets would have done and brady would go from there.

I don't know, at some point you have to rely on the talent you have on the field Whistling
