240 bucks for a 4x8 decent little trailer that most crossover SUV's these days could pull, Requires assembly, but with another 60 in lumber and it'd be hard to find a heavily used one on craigslist for that cheap. Comes with title, just purchased one at my local HF.

Do us all a favor and DON'T buy this, and cause an extremely dangerous situation for those on the road around you.
i second that

(need to keep off the road, let alone while towing a half a$$ trailer they 'built')

Under the performance tab this one shows a curb weight of 1200lbs

If that's the one being towed, then make your own call about the extra 5 pounds then. I was just pointing out that it can tow the majority of carts since it's rare that they exceed the weight limit.

Picked one up today. If someone has some links to the grease, castors, and locktite thread glue they used or suggest I would be grateful. Want to go ahead and order everything I need before I assemble it in a week or 2.

I just picked up one of these trailers last week (unassembled). I went to the DMV to try and register it, but they told me I have to bring the trailer to the DMV to get it inspected first. Has anyone done this in California? Wondering if you had any issues and what you had to bring besides the trailer. Hate to waste half a day to find out I am missing something.

Sorry for bringing up an old thread. Could any of the actual owners of the trailer measure the plate that holds casters and post back to this thread? I'm looking for the total length and also something along the lines:

"X1 inches from left side to the first caster hole, X2 inches from the first caster hole to the first mounting bolt hole, X3 inches from the first mounting bolt to the second mounting bolt, X4 inches from the second bolt to the second caster, X5 from the second caster to the right side."

That's part 30R on page 8 in http://manuals.harborfreight.com/.../90154.pdf .

I got the '05 trailer from Craigslist and apparently back then this part was extra $40. I have some extra steel, but I need to determine the center of gravity. Huge thanks!!!

As a side note, it sucks paying $250 in fees to the state of Maryland on $75 trailer.

It got an impression it's more or less a permanent deal. It sells at $299 quite often and you can take 25% off most of the time.

I am 'still' working on getting it registered. It really depends on the state. Starting with the used I bought on Craigslist for $75, In Maryland I spent 3 hours at MVA and paid $100 title fee, $20 tax (on $75 trailer? really?), and $20 temporary tag fee. After that, I was given a temporary license plate and instructed to get it inspected (another $55+tax) like you would a normal car. After this, I have to spend another N hours and $50 at MVA to get a normal 2-year plate. I would imagine starting from a new one would be a similar procedure, though they might ask you to take it to a cop for a visual inspection before giving a temp tag, this should be free. The guy I bough it from never had a tag on it and drove it all over DC for nearly 10 years without a problem though. Again, depending on your state, you can register it in Maine and get a lifetime plate for much cheaper. I believe Maryland passed a law to specifically ban this practice.

I have not had time to build it yet. So have not taken it in for inspection...hopefully next weekend. I'll post my experiences when I actually have some.

I'd be curious to see how everyone who bought this trailer made it their own. Similar to the link in the OP/wiki?

Ok, sorry for the late reply. finally got a day off from work and went to the California dmv today. besides the usual hassle of going to the dmv, the registration and inspection process was pretty straight forward. I paid 59 bucks for permanent trailer registration, they came out to verify the vin matched the paperwork and gave me new trailer plates. they kept the title from harbor freight and will be sending one to me from the dmv. All and all it went pretty easy. I next task is to figure how to back up properly and look like a idiot !

Also regarding the trailer, it's definitely a killer deal for the price and what you are getting. However you will be spending some more to actually complete it. I bought a spare tire, toounge lock, need to get a tire mount and wood. I also noticed when folded up not everything was square..so ill have to play around with it.

anyone know if the harbor freight steel trailer side kit is still available? I can't find it anywhere.
