I lost my Baby. Here he is not long after his birth:

Here he is the day he died:

I held him within the first few minutes he was born and held him as he took his last few breaths of life. I watched with great intrigue and pride at how quickly he learned to do things - particularly great escapes - and his antics gave me a lot of laughter over the years. Finzzy can tell you, though the life may be small the pain is great.
My heart is in a million pieces. He'd been to the vet twice but old age and an infection finally took their toll. He didn't go quietly or easily into that good night but hung on and fought...
Matthew leaves behind a mate and ten children (one juvenile delinquent and nine babies born just this past week.) They will never know their Dad.

Finally I had to sleep so I put him in the tank and nudged him towards his brother for sleep, right? Fully expected him to be gone when I awoke but no! Alive and seems okay but constantly biting. Now he's back to sleeping alone in the corner.
He's really old and has tummy tumors so...
