THIS THING WORKS! I just did it on 08/03/2014
WORKS for Dreamspark Regular not Premium. See Post #224 I have a real .edu account and it gives the same stuff.
This appears to be false, at least for BB. It worked for me as of 5/2 12pm CDT. Signed up for the email and discounts at BB w/ no issues.
Registration Instructions:
Link to Sign Up Page [californiacolleges.edu]
Step 1: Who are you?
Pick any category (student, adult, parent). If you have no preference, suggest you choose "parent" because it simplifies subsequent choices.
Step 2: Select school or program.
Choose a school or program from the drop-down list.
Fill in any other requested information.
Step 3: Account Information.
Skip down to the username field and make sure the one you want is available using the "check" link once you type a username. Once you have a USABLE username, go back up to the email field.
In the email field ONLY enter the username you chose and "@californiacolleges.edu" in BOTH fields
DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT ENTER ANY "NORMAL" EMAIL ADDRESS ON THIS WEB FORM.
(Entering "regular" email address at this point will result in your profile being registered to that email address. It will preempt the creation of a new .edu email address, which is the whole point to this exercise!)
Leave all optional fields blank. Fill in all other blanks (except for the email addresses!).
If the username you chose was clear and you entered it properly in the email field with the "@californiacolleges.edu" attached to it, an edu email address will be CREATED for you at this point. Congrats!
Done!
You can find your email messages by navigating through the website to the "Your Portfolio" tab or by clicking the followinglink [californiacolleges.edu].

why emails are displaying weird characters, missing content or even empty body (still have subject)
Warning: Amazon is aware of this loophole, and there is a possibility of being banned for attempting this.
