Charter Spectrum Internet $29.99/month for 1 year Unbundled

-4 Deal Score

Charter is currently offering Spectrum Internet only for $29.99 for 12 months. This is normally the bundled price. Don't know how long it will last, the rep wasn't even aware of it.

Go to www.charter.com, key in your address to see available offers, scroll down till you see "Internet $29.99 special price". They do however tack on a $29.99 installation fee.

New customers only. Varies by location.

You might want to specify that this is for new customers only, or at least customers without internet currently active through Charter. I saw no internet offers through the link at all.

This is what I saw on the offers page:

Internet
$29.99/mo for 12 mos.

Apparently it varies by location and only applies to new customers.

I've tried calling detentions before in the past and even told them I was thinking about cancelling but they didn't budge. Any tips?

Leave Charter and find someone else, you will better off in the long run if you can.

For those who want to stop the harassing sales phone calls from Charter after you sign up with them, fill out the forum at this link:
https://connect.charter.com/cas/p...ivacy.aspx

Charter likes to hide this link on their web site and not let people know about it. When this "deal" is done in a year, get ready to pay $59.99 per month as that is the cheapest internet service they offer. Good luck to you all playing Charters pricing games.

Make sure on the voice prompt you say CANCEL.

This is what I did. I mentioned that Uverse has 18meg + HBO and Prime + basic cable for $46 and I clearly mentioned that the speed of 60meg was not necessary for my habits.

Also, truthfully, there has been disconnects every night of the week from 8-12 for the past few weeks. I had a tech come out, said nothings wrong. I know its not just me because my neighbor two blocks down the street also has their connection drop and I call him every time and he confirms it. I called literally like 8 times and there's been no resolution.

Anyway, their major selling point is the speed so if you shoot them down on that all they can pitch you on is Epix which is included. I told them honestly I don't care about speed and I want the service to work. The guy goes through the motions because they're recording them "So you dont want the service for 55.99." I said No, do something better for me. He came back and offered me 39.99 for 12 months. Its not hard, it just you have to either have a understanding rep and you have to really sound like you're fed up with them.

PS. Ive done this two years in a row.

All these companies are the same. They want to charge you the highest rate possible if you sit there passively and pay your bill. SirusXM, Directv, Charter, ATT - all the same. So what do you do? call and renegotiate.

After all, America is not a country. Its a business.

I'd rather the slower Uverse. The Charter unreliability wasn't worth the headaches

It was showing up for my at 39.99. I called multiple times and got one of the supervisors to tell me that only the online sales department can get me 29.99. She transferred me and I told them that the supervisor i was talking to informed me that I can get it for un-bundled price of 29.99. She gave it to me without any issue. However, she wouldn't budge on installation fee of 29.99.

Must have only been $29.99 for the weekend.

From my understanding, Charter's deals won't be available/visible until the week before Black Friday. In a thread from a few years ago, the deals were available here http://www.charter.com/BlackFridayDeals. Although that page goes to a website directory on Charter.com, its likely they will use the same URL for this year. I know a few other charter partners will be offering deals but, like Charter directly, not until a week or two weeks before. Here is one that I know of: http://www.getcharterspectrum.com/black-friday/

I was very close to cancelling because of the T3/T4 timeouts.

They were good for the last 4-5 years but the problem is when there is a serious issue, it never gets fixed. If it works, its great service.

Lately a lot of T3/T4 timeouts according to logs but as long as they are not during the day and the service works at night, im happy.
