I started early this morning on the car . . . about 9:00 am. laugh out loud I soaked the old oil-filled air cleaner in hot water and Dawn while I removed the air filter housing from the car. Got started cleaning the top again by 9:30, and I'm almost finished with it now. I had to stop and make a pot of chicken noodle soup about 10 am, because Mrs. Frog has come down with the flu. Frown I just finished enjoying my mug full of hot brothy goodness, and now I'm going back outside to finish cleaning that darned thing. Did I mention, everything about this car is BIG? laugh out loud

Well, I finished cleaning the top half of the air cleaner, and the first coat of paint didn't take as well / smoothly as I'd have liked. To be honest, I didn't do a thoroughly OCD job brushing down some of the rust spots. This is supposed to be "rust treatment" enamel, but apparently it's just not sticking in some spots. Whatever, it still looks 98% better than it did before. The power steering cover was a piece of cake to clean up, but it did the same thing, with pinpoint spots not taking the paint. Again, it looks entirely better anyway. I'm waiting for both pieces to get their entire two hours drying in the sun before I put them back on the car. I'll take another picture similar to that previous one for comparison, after the parts are finally back on the engine.
