There was a cute moment there when I got the Dish return package and saw that they wanted the LNB back. The LNB, for the unaware, is the part of the satellite dish that sits on the arm in front of the actual dish, and collects the signals and moves them on down the line. Well, I looked up at my roof, where the dish is, and decided there was no way in holy hell I was going to climb up there in cold weather, and that they had a professional come out and put it there, they can bloody well get a professional to come back out and retrieve it if they want it so damn badly.
I got on the phone, girded for a fight, and presumably for liability reasons, they said "no problem, we don't want to risk your safety" or something along those lines.
It snowed more in the evening as well, but nothing stuck
That was good, I hadn't seen it before.
1) It's a short work week anyway.
2) I have to attend yet another one of those mind-numbingly boring data-mapping conference calls. I have to listen to ignorant people read row-upon-row of spreadsheet text and change their minds as they go along. What's hilarious is how they drill down to ridiculous levels of detail that are not even mandatory. Wasteful, wasteful, wasteful.
With the forecast for Thursday, there's a good chance I'll just smoke the turkey Wednesday. We're not doing a "fancy" Thanksgiving anyway, the older kid will be visiting people in CO, and our friends we normally game with on Saturday nights will be coming over Thursday for what will hopefully be an epic day of gaming.

Sounds like my own personal hell.
Helped PG out with her car again too, she told me on Friday that her power steering was generally not working. Looks like my mechanic had to remove the PS belt to do the alternator belt, and didn't get it tight enough. So that only took a few minutes to diagnose and fix. She had been all panicky and looking at getting a different car or something, the place she called near her work quoted her $500 to replace the power steering pump (even though she told them it sounded like maybe a belt issue).
That place is definitely on my list of telling people "Oh, I don't think I'd go there..."
