I'm sure it's been mentioned and buried but extended warranty benefit goes away next month which sucks
Uhh yeah I have an Amex, this is not true lol
I'm sure citi fought hard in the bidding process to beat Amex to get the Costco account. Part of the terms were probably to offer better benefits for the customer....

Never got my card, told costco, threatened cancelation, they asked me for my member number so they could cancel. They don't seem to care either.
Keep in mind, if the card account is active, it would get closed upon termination and that may have some impact on credit.

Not sure. Maybe a credit report would show it?

Not sure why people having problem receiving the cards. I got three of them more than a week before June 20th and activated them fine without problems. May be they make it easy for Executive Members?

I noticed you specified Costco gas. Are the rewards not for all gas stations?
I spec'd Costco just because they are usually the cheapest & closest to our house.
But yes fro the Citi Costco FAQ:
4% cash back on up to $7,000 in gas purchases each year from Costco and other gas stations, not including those at other warehouse clubs.

As per my previous post, do you recall having to sign and send in any forms in order to use the Citi Costco card?
Not sure if this answer is in the context of your query but all I did was go to the Citi Costco dedicated activation site to start using the card once June 20th came around without signing or calling anyone.

I received my cards, not an executive member here. Everything transferred over to Citi and I have no issues logging in, using the cards, etc. I'm not sure what the issue is to cause other members so much headaches.

Been using the Chase Freedom for the 5% though and not the Costco Citi. FYI, use the Costco Citi for Costco Gas as the Freedom's 5% bonus does not apply to the gas purchase.

Wasn't there communication from AmEx saying that you'd lose access to your card or account (if this was your only AmEx) the day the switch happened?

Yes.
But I should have been more clear about the context in my post.
It was in regards to just doing this last month's billing & noticing the associated PDF was available to download - which I put off until I had finished my recon.

But the moment I paid, the PDF for this last bill disappeared.

Quite odd.

Well when some of us are used to Concierge level service from AMEX, Citi is several steps down.

Coincidentally, I applied for & received another Citi managed co-branded card from American Airlines the same week the Costco card flipped to Citi.
That was a mess too.

One would think Citi has gotten that (AA) relationship ironed out.
But as with the Costco card numerous problems occurred for me:

They denied 3 online charges right off the bat for suspicious activity WITHOUT Calling me or notifying me via email. I only found out after I checked on the status of the shipments & went into review the online Citi account & saw a little note they casually left to call them them because my future charges may be affected.

In the meanwhile, they still let go through a bunch of other charges. Huh?!

Citi AA also couldn't get the Apple Wallet app to add my AA card so I had to call in & they jerry rigged it on their end & told me to reinstall the app.
Thought all was swell.
Even used Apple pay on a couple of purchases.

Then one of the aforementioned online issues came to light & upon calling their fraud detection center, they blamed it on some unusual activity with my Apple Pay account.

So, they had me uninstall & reinstall it & flipped something on their side.
At this point I was beyond flabbergasted & ask to speak to a manager.
The CSR told me his manager would call me back. 3 weeks later - nothing.

At this point, after 3 weeks as a Citi AA card holder - they have made me feel unwanted, frustrated, and not very confident of their abilities.

My one recourse was a very timely survey that came in the mail where I totally detailed my issues with the AA card handling & I basically said I would rip them a new one whenever I can whether to friends, family or strangers on the net & social media.

It's the 21st century - we deserve to be treated like Lexus customers not suspicious criminals.

In my experience with other cards, it depends on how the establishment is listed in their database regardless of its size.

I have a question if anyone here can answer it. The new Costco Citi Visa will give you 3% at restaurants. Does this include small local restaurants/cafes?
Quote from tresh :
as long as they are coded as restaurant, and most of them should be.
Are fast food restaurants coded as such or do they have a separate category all their own?

Thanks for the reply. I also did all the activation requirements online before and after the 20th. The website says the card is registered and activated, yet I can't use it. According to Citibank I need to sign and return some letter, which I'm still waiting to receive.

Does anyone know at what percentages will the charges forwarded by AmEx be processed for CB? Maybe someone whose statement closed after the transition could answer this.
Quote from RowdyReptile :
I would assume that the cash back was processed by AmEx at time of purchase at their reward rates, though I don't know that for sure. You're right that the cash back is processed at the end of the month, so it might be processed at the new Citi rates.
You were right: I'm looking at my statement and CB summary right now and AmEx charges were processed at AmEx CB rates.

It was a pleasant surprise to see CB breakdowns for the current statement. AmEx used to lag by a cycle.

Hi folks. Do you know what type of extended warranty this card has if I purchase a appliance through Costco. For example I'm consider purchasing a washer that has a 2-year manufacturers warranty. Will this give me an addition 12 months warranty if I use Costco Citi Visa?

Also do all Visa CC (e.g. Chase Freedom) provide extended warranty or limited to Visa Signature CC only?

Thank you!
