renting cars without a credit card

2 10 May 1, 2016 at 07:52 AM
Do rental companies still rent cars to non- credit card holders? I know they used to hold an additional $100-200 - particularly true with Hertz. But now with a quick internet search, it doesn't seem so anymore. Please share your experience with this. Thanks so much!

They do not, insofar as I understand it.

So do you mean without a debit card either?

Budget will do with a debit card

Rent a wreck will do a cash rental at some locations

Many, but not all, Rent-A-Wreck locations will rent to cash customers. Most locations will require that cash customers fill out a cash qualification questionnaire at the rental location during normal business hours so that it may be verified. A cash deposit will be required if a credit card is not presented for payment. If you are interested in renting a car using cash, please contact the individual location for their specific prices and policies.

Budget will accept a debit card.

This addresses debit cards and prepaid rentals:

Thrifty (IIRC same company as Budget) does as well:
