ALDI: Easy Home Robotic Vacuum $69.99

+14 Deal Score

This is a very simple unit. There is no docking station, just a wall charger with a port. This is not nearly as rugged as a Roomba.(we have owned several generations of Roomba and Scooba) I have run the unit through through one cycle. The edge sensors did keep it from running off the staircase landing and it does an acceptable job of light vacuuming on flat carpet and wood floors.

Navigates automatically
Works under beds, furniture and other hard-to-reach areas
3 cleaning modes
Easy-clean dustbin with filters
Large main brush and dual side spinning brushes for maximum coverage edge cleaning
Includes rechargeable battery and AC adapter

Are replacement batteries available on ebay or at low cost? Otherwise if only direct cost might be almost as much as a new unit.
Also, will it work on area rugs and how does it handle rug fringe and getting stuck under a table with wrought iron diagonal bars?

I used to buy a lot of stuff from Aldi UK.... usually good quality and backed with a good 1 year return to store unconditional guarantee.... This would not apply here as product standards are lower

This is different than the duster that Aldi sold last year. This will work on carpets.

i bought this today. this thing is very stupid. it gets stuck everywhere. especially when it contacts a surface head on. it takes 3-5 minutes to be able to continue if it is lucky. it can get stuck trying to push the object forever.

i either got a lemon or this thing is beyond useless.
does anyone have experience with Aldi's returns. I hope they don't give me a headache because i opened the package and tried this stupid thing out.

for anyone considering buying a robotic vacuum i would advise buying an established brand like irobot or neato. or not buying one at all.

yeah i got one from aldi today and gave it a shot. Cheap product. I would say that its better on the floor than on carpet. Its just so slow on the carpet and keep spinning around. Gets stuck easily too. I have returned stuff at aldi before. They give you 30 days to return but i am returning mine tomorrow. refund does not go back to your card that you used, they give you cash which i am fine with.
