That isn't true at all. LG will service any TV with a valid serial number within the first year. There's no sending in at this size, either. In home repair only.
Exactly. As long as you buy it new and have paperwork LG will honor the 1 year warranty, even from unauthorized resellers. The only resellers I would avoid are the handful listed on lg.com as explicitly unauthorized.
